Dr. Filbert Nguyen, MD

The dr. Was not warm or friendly or informative at all. I will pursue another opinion from someone else.

I would like to highly recommend Dr. Nyugen for both Cataract and Ptyrigeum surgeries.I’m in my 70’s & I was having problems seeing clearly both at close range & at a distance. I was also seeing halos while driving at night. It felt like all cars coming at me had their high beams on. Reading glasses no longer were helping me. So I went to see Dr. Nguyen who diagnosed me has having Pytergiums & Cataracts in both eyes. I also was nearsighted in one eye & farsighted in the other. He said that my eyesight would really improve after the cataract surgeries. He recommended that I do the Pytergium surgeries first & once healed then the cataract surgeries .So I did the Pytergium surgeries one at a time & both were successful & healed nicely. Each took about an hour & Dr Nguyen was very professional & helpful. I was given some medication to comfort me but I was awake to move eyes in different directions when needed. After a couple of months to heal the Cataract surgeries were done one eye at a time and a month or so apart. Each took about 30 minutes and were pain free. The medication given was similar to that of the Pyterium surgeries. Again Dr. Nguyen was very professional and helpful. After the first cataract surgery was done it was truly amazing to see what true colors I’d been missing. A flower bush in front of my house now had beautiful blue colors from my cataract surgeried eye compared to the dull looking blue color with the yet to be cataract surgeried eye. Both cataract surgeries were very successful & I am extremely grateful to Dr. Nguyen for his professionalism and demeanor. I must mention that in the cataract surgeries I opted for a farsighted lens to be put in one eye & & a nearsighted lens in the other. Dr. Nguyen was able to do this for me. All the surgeries had follow up appointments in which Dr. Nyugen kept me totally informed of my progress. After the surgeries I now have very good vision in both eyes. I can even drive at night with no problem. I was given a prescription & I did get eyeglasses but I rarely use them. I can see both far and near with no problem . I feel so blessed and happy that everything worked out with my surgeries. I will be forever thankful to Dr. Nyguyen for making it possible. I highly recommend Dr. Nyguen for any cataract or Pytergium surgery you might have. He’s the best!!!

Dr. Nguyen was great. I had an opthal. Urgency, and he fit me in the same day and did not appear rushed. He also did a great job explaining his differential and dx.

I highly recommend Dr. Filbert Nguyen of Woodland Healthcare Eye Institute for cataract surgery. Dr. Nguyen operated on both my eyes. Dr. Nguyen is highly skilled. The operations were painless and there was no complication. Dr. Nguyen is a great communicator. He explained everything to me and answered all my questions. I have no doubt that he had other patients to take care of, but he never appeared rushed when he was with me.Dr. Nguyen did not pressure me to choose expensive procedures or expensive lenses. He agreed with my choice of standard intraocular lenses focused at infinity. Dr. Nguyen was careful. He had a comprehensive list of do’s and don’ts. I followed his instructions and had no complications.Before I had the cataract surgeries, I had trouble seeing even with eyeglasses. I also had double vision. After the operation, I can now see clearly at all distances.
