He is a wonderful doctor. He took the the time to explain everything, helped me to understand everything. He answered all of my questions and didn't act like I was an idiot.

A Wonderful Cardiologist
I met Dr Ghavami as I was admitted to SIUH with A-Fib. He's been my cardiologist ever since. He's always been one step ahead, ordering tests and treatments BEFORE problems arise. He's wonderful to converse with and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ghavami and Jackie fine; scheduler Erica not
Dr. Ghavami is a terrific doctor and his medical assistant Jackie is fine too. However, he has a "scheduler", Erica, who was so rude when I tried to change the date of a procedure over a month in advance. She accused me of changing it for a second time, which was not true (it was only once), but although she was distraught, seemingly agreed to change the date. About a week before the original date, a lovely woman, Cathy, informed me that the date was never changed and was willing to change it. When I was in the office, I told the wonderful Dr. Ghavami about such treatment, and he walked with me to Erica's office but left me alone with her. She really wouldn't let me speak, repeating over and over, "are you sure it was me??" Indeed it was; my girlfriend was a witness to the call. When I wouldn't buy it, she then changed her story to, "I deal with hundreds of people...thus, I don't remember." Such behavior is unusual for this great crew, but I did have to deduct one star. Sorry

I agree with the previous review and I’m speaking straight out here. The attitude and personalities definitely has changed with the pandemic and I know things are crazy right now. First, Jackie was not like this before but her attitude did definitely change. She is rude and talks abrubtly over us. When I last went in there she was rushing me in for an EKG when I was still checking in and taking care of co pay info at the front desk. Then she was getting annoyed cause she had to wait. Sure enough your blood pressure is going to start going up. The doctor himself has changed. He speaks very fast and talks over us and cuts us short. He is too dismissive. I was going through some sleep issues and was having a reaction to medication for sleep that wasn’t working for me but instead caused my blood pressure to become high. Instead of listening to my problem he put me right on blood pressure meds. Since I’m not always consistently high & the problem was temporary. My pressure also went too low

I think Dr. Ghavami is an excellent Cardiologist. However, his assistant Jackie is horrible. (That’s the reason for the three stars). Jackie has a bad attitude and acts like she is the doctor. She also makes little comments that’s are totally uncalled for. I worked for a doctor for 12 yrs. I got along with every patient and was never rude to any of them as she is! I am thinking of switching doctors because of her. Two of my blood pressure pills were changed in the past week and a half and I actually blacked out yesterday and am hesitating calling office to speak to Dr. Ghavami because of her.

Dr Ghavami is a caring , intelligent doctor who will spend time with you and answer every question you have . He also explains things without you having to ask him. He’s not an alarmist and has a great bedside manner. I feel very comfortable with Dr Ghavami. He won’t rush you or use scare tactics . I don’t know why anyone would give less than a 5 star rating .

We came with my brother Gennadiy to see doctor Ghavami because my brother heart rate was 39, he was very weak, could not walk, eat. My brother had a heart surgery several years ago, just started new pills -Toprol and all doctors blamed these pills and advised us to see a cardiologist. Dr. Ghavami checked all test results and told us that it is not a cardiology problem. And he was right. My brother had Lyme disease! Dr.Ghavami saved my brother life for not to go to a wrong direction.Thank you Dr.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Ghavami for over 12 years.Dr. Ghavami is a wonderful caring and intelligent cardiologist. We were very lucky to have found him years ago. I also have recommended numerous friends who have thanked me for introducing them to such a good doctor. The office staff is very helpful but people have to understand that it is every busy office like a lot of good offices and but they do take care of you.

I'll make this short...I arrived at the office perfectly healthy, ended up in hospital that day. perfectly healthy heart, but heart rate was allowed to go to high during a routine stress test. 4 months of hell and 5 visits to hospital, not even a returned phone call. Just received a bogus invoice from his office demanding payment in 10 days for services not rendered. Horrible experience. Now I am on beta blockers for the rest of my life.

Dr Ghavami is a horrible doctor. He has no bedside manner, he is rude and has zero compassion. He told me multiple times my heart was fine, but he was wrong. Then he yelled at me the day after Pacemaker surgery. He didn't like being wrong. Treated me very badly when I did nothing wrong. Stay Away from this jerk.

Stay away from this doctor. My dad had chest pains and afib. He told him he had a pulmonary embolism. In an out of the hospital with this chest pain, saying it's the PE it's normal. My dad went back to the er , his response was your back again? I said well his pains are bad and yhas trouble breathing and his response was it's the pe. We went to to his office said the pain was normal. 3 days later my dad went into cardiac arrest and died, the tests showed no PE! It was his heart!

Dr. Ghavami is not a top notch cardiologist. He totally ignored my fathers chest pain that he ended up going in cardiac arrest. Shame on him for not taking the time to listen to his patient. We even went for a follow up after one hospital visit and he ignored his pain again and did no tests. That same week he had a heart attact and passed away. 5 weeks back and forth to the hospital with this chest pain and he did nothing. Go to Manhattan if you want good doctors. 1 star is too generous.

DR GHAVAMI IS A VERY GOOD PRACTITIONER WITH A CARING BEDSIDE MANNER. IN SPITE OF THIS HE IS NO LONGER MY CARDIOLOGIST. WHY? WELL LIKE MANY DOCTORS THEIR STAFF HIS STAFF IS RUDE, UNWILLING TO BE HELPFUL UNLESS THE DOCTOR IS RIGHT THERE. ON THE PHONE THEY ARE ABRUPT, UNHELPFUL AND MORE THAN WILLING TO KEEP A PATIENT ON GOLD FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AT A TIME. ONE STAFF MEMBER,DOCTOR GHAVAMI'S PA IS PARTICULARLY RUDE, AGGRESSIVE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO DEAL WITH. GOOD DOCTOR IF YOU CAN DEAL WITH HIS STAFF.
