Saved my life!
I came to Honor Scottsdale after YRMC in Prescott refused to do any imaging to determine what was causing my excruciating neck pain. SIX TIMES. Honor Scottsdale coordinated Dr. Ponce operating on my c1 and c2 vertebrae and fused them . The job he did was amazing. Dr. Ponce if you are reading this, to my family and I you are a hero!

Office Staff Horrible with zero follow up
Dr Ponce is my neurologist and completed a spinal fusion in my neck in 2021. I have since had issues with my neck and attempted to make an appt and his staff refused without an MRI. It took me weeks to get an MRI and once I did, they continually told me they didn’t have it and Dr. Ponce wouldn’t take an appt without the MRI. They finally received the MRI last week. I called and then I was told I still didn’t qualify for an appt because I am on a long list of old clients that Dr. Ponce needs to review. Today I received a registered letter stating that it was their last request for me to get a CT scan. I have been on the phone (when you can actually reach the staff) over 7 times in the past 7 weeks. They have never told me to get a CT scan!! It is clear in the MRI that something is wrong with the fusion and I can’t get an appointment. This has been the worst experience I have ever had dealing with his office. Do not use his office. They don’t care about you.

Dr. Ponce recently diagnosed a brain tumor along with spinal and lung cancer and compassionately recommended that I avoid surgery, allow medications to alleviate the swelling, pain and nausea and allow nature to take it's course as it was inoperable. He explained the most he could do for me was a "band aid" and the disease would ultimately take me. I have to say that his "bedside manner" along with his honesty, helped my wife and I make the decision to allow them to contact Hospice and take care of all the detail.

Never had an opportunity to meet with Dr Francisco Ponce to discuss my medical situation. After being told the doctor no longer has a East Vally location by the office receptionist she suggested that I contact the Phoenix office. After leaving a brief message and personal number two days ago with no callback, I've decided to search for another surgeon.

I was terrified. So I waited over 16 years (in pain) to have my spine fused. Dr. Ponce was able to asuage my fears...no small feat! He patiently explained the repair he would perform, while reassuring me, 'There is no non-invasive way to fix this.' I woke up after surgery, and my life is changed. At least once a day, I am grateful to Dr. Ponce and his staff for my new lease...usually each morning when i wake up PAIN FREE! Awesome! Thank you, Dr Ponce, and everyone at The Barrow!

I had bilateral D.B.S. surgeries by Dr. Ponce. I had zero side affects and no adverse events. His electrode placement in both right and left hemispheres were exact, thus my programming has produced wonderful results for my diagnosis of cervical dystonia. I could not recommend him more highly.

Dr. Ponce loves his job, and it is very obvious he has so much compassion and treats his patients like they are a member of his own family. He explained the entire procedure of my DBS surgery and made my fears dissolve. I knew I was in great care and my new life would be wonderful. I will forever be grateful for Dr. Ponce and his program coordinator, Meg Lambert. The care I received before, during and after my surgery was beyong excellent.

Dr. Ponce's careful evaluation of my symptoms and conditions identified cervical and lumbar spine problems. In the past year, Dr. Ponce has performed cervical fusion and lumbar laminectomy surgeries on me. Yesterday, 2 1/2 weeks after lumbar surgery, I walked 1 mile without pain for the first time in over 4 years. :)
