Dr A operated on me in the 90’s he was the most efficient, professional, and caring Dr I have ever had!! Any low score for him would be someone trying to outdo him. He’s exceptional!

Poor bed side manner. Dismissive and haughty. Did not review history and imaging appropriately . Did not make an accurate assessment of my problem . I think he should Seriously consider retiring. He provides a very poor representation of the orthopedic dept. at San Rafael

He was referred as the orthopedic in San Rafael to review my broken wrist He had no clue about the history, he took an X-ray and removed my cast. Apparently he doesn’t know how to read an X-ray because he missed the broken trapezoid fracture and the fact that the fracture clinic in SF had set my arm in the wrong position. He kept his back to me most of the visit focused on the X-ray and other aspects of my chart that had nothing whatsoever to do with my reason for being there. His clothes were professional but his smell was off putting. His conclusion that my break was just like every other person’s fracture made no sense. His flamboyant dismissal malpractice. He left the cast off. I demanded an MRI and those results described the severity of my break. I ask for my copay for his visit be returned. Got a bill that I was undercharged for my X-ray! Save yourself and go to orthopedic’s in Oakland or South City. Wish I could rate 0

He is without a doubt the most arrogant, rude, patronizing, egotistical doctor it has ever been my misfortune to come across. We all put up with a certain lack of bedside manner with surgeons, saying, well I don't care as long as he does a good job, but he is just so awful I can't even imagine putting up with him while being unconscious.

Dr. Antounian replaced my hip, and it has been stiff ever since. I think he is only a moderately skilled surgeon, and I would not recommend him for hip replacement surgery. I found his manner somewhat haughty as well. If you are looking for hip replacement within the Kaiser system, I strongly recommend the anterior approach, which Dr. Antounian does not perform. The anterior approach (less invasive, faster recovery) is done very skillfully in Vallejo.
