I have been a patient of Dr. Heitzer's for 10 years, unfortunately I have always felt like a dollar sign to him as he never quite showed any interest in my wellbeing. I have not been sick since 2016, but when I needed a NOTE from him for a drug test for my internship as a Physical Therapist Student, I was informed that I am no longer a patient and that he is no longer taking new patients. Unbelievable. He couldn't even write me a note for LabCorp, after 10 years of being his patient. I would personally be wary of how much Dr. Heitzer cares about you as a person, sadly. Try a different doctor.

This doctor should not be practicing medicine at all. He became my moms doctor a year ago and in that year he had her go semi monthly for blood work to monitor her blood sugar and INR levels. Over this year she had a weight loss of approx 70 lbs and it was never addressed. She would speak to him in the appointments about loss of appetite and difficulty swallowing and this was completely ignored. She passed quickly with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and he never once visited her or made called her.

Dr Heitzer listens carefully and explains everything he does and why. He always seems to be well informed about the latest medical advances. Good analytic skills and a very nice person. Office staff are competent and friendly. He is the only physician in his practice, and sometimes there is a wait while he sees to earlier patients that need more time.

Unlike the patient from Jersey City who was so displeased with Dr. Heitzer, my husband's and my experiences with him for more than 20 years have been nothing but positive. He is pleasant, listens to your problems, and takes detailed notes. Also, Dr. Heitzer is to be respected for his keen diagnostic skills which lead him to choose the right drug or recommend the right test to help solve or alleviate a problem, or even to recommend a specialist. Dr. Heitzer is a very dedicated physician.

I would never recommend Dr Heitzer to anyone, ever. Not only does he have zero bedside manner whatsoever, he's not even remotely friendly. He's very socially awkward, pecuiar and off-putting. On top of that, he is rude to his staff and patients. I was having a conversation with the front staff when he came over and abruptly interrupted without so much of an apology. He also charged me an extra $150 for an "extended visit", when I spent more time waiting to see him, than I did with him. Horrible
