Simply the Best
The UAMS medical center is second to none. All staff are friendly and helpful from the minute you enter the doors. Every procedure is carried out with precision, mostly on time and in house. All medical personnel are well trained for their specific task. Dr. VanRhee is extremely knowledgeable with regard to Multiple Myeloma and other blood cancers. He has kept myself and many others I know healthy and active with a good quality of life for many years. I am now 11 year post diagnosis. If you want the best hospital and hematology oncologist I strongly suggest you check out both UAMS and Dr. Fritz VanRhee.

If you have Multiple Myeloma go to him. He is an expert and the reason I'm alive today. Other doctors around the country wanted to experiment on me. He wanted to heal me. You will most likely have a very long wait in the lobby, but this team is worth it.

Dr. Van Rhee was my father's MM doctor & oversaw a stem cell transplant that in Van Rhee's opinion would give my father an additional 10 years of life. While the transplant was considered a success, my father was given a dose of incorrect medicine the follow day. He was then admitted to the ER & within 23 days passed away from complications with the medicine. Van Rhee only visited my father two times during his ER stay & referred to him as a "learning experience."

Dr. Van Rhee was my husband's doctor from March 2016 until July 20, 2016. One day post stem cell transplant, my husband was prescribed a drug, contraindicated for his preexisting conditions, by an Infusion IV nurse. My husband was hospitalized the next day and died 23 days later from drug-induced complications. Dr. Van Rhee referred to this as a "learning experience." A terrible thing to have said made worse by the fact that the drug has been on the market for nearly 60 years.
