We went to the ER because our son’s high fever wasn’t coming down despite antibiotics for an ear infection and fever reducers, and we were concerned about his breathing. They gave a suppository, and 2 hours later, after asking, Dr. G came in. After 1 min in the room we were told our son is at higher risk for serious infections based on our medical choices we make with his pediatrician and that declining any testing (X-ray, bloodwork, urine culture) would be against medical advice. We were simply asking if there were other indicators for what she mentioned & other questions to understand before poking & prodding our 10 mo. It seemed like an annoyance to her. We regret not requesting a 2nd opinion. His fever remained high, and we didn’t get ibuprofen until 1am. Also waited hrs for water. We only got both after asking nurses 10x. Dr. G must have left? Another Dr came in later who VERY clearly had pediatric experience and said his symptoms and behavior were normal & no more testing needed
