majority of the receptionists are rude as heck very unprofessional and need customer skills training. My mother has been a patient of Dr. Chen for a few years already for surgery that is as far as follow appointments go, she is usually seen by a PA which is ok BUT those receptionists once again are rude as flip they don't know how to answer calls they question why do need to identify themselves when answering the phone all the say is 'doctor's office.' They question why you need to speak to their manager whose voicemail box is always full, there has to be someone that we can complain to. This is totally unprofessional not to mention one told me I was confused, and I didn't know what I was talking about. So, these other comments that say the receptionists are unprofessional BELIEVE IT. The rude ones are ROSA, SOFIA or SOPHIA and ANNA or ANA. Their manager Ellen never returned any of my calls when I was finally able to leave messages.

This is not specifically about Dr Chen
I was recently seen at California Orthopedic & Microsurgery Institute in Cerritos, I never saw Dr Chen. The first visit involved waiting an hour before being seen. The visit lasted about 15 minutes. Dr Blanca was great, as was the xray tech on my second visit. But, whoever answers the phones needs to be let go immediately. She is rude and un professional. I had a follow up question and asked to speak to the Dr. The reception lady said 'You don't nee to talk the doctor. You talk to me'I cancelled my follow up. I will be seeking a new facility.

Unprofessional
My overall experience was terrible. I did not get the outcome as expected. Dr. Chen did not follow up with my progress or seen to be concerned. Dr. Andersen is another unprofessional Healthcare provider as well

Not even 1 Star
NOT even 1 star I would like to express my deep disappointment with Dr. Gary Yougang Chen MD surgeon's office located at 1513 S. Grand Ave After waiting for a month and a half to secure an appointment for my relative, MuAllifah Griffie, who does not drive, I embarked on a two-hour drive to downtown LA, only to discover upon arrival that the clinic was closed. I was truly taken aback by the astonishing lack of responsibility displayed by the administrators who failed to notify patients about the cancellation of their appointments. What made it even more surprising was the fact that my friend had received confirmation for the appointment just the day before. As a result, three of us were left stranded, frustrated, and desperately knocking on the clinic's door. The building's security guard revealed that this was not the first instance of such irresponsible behavior from this particular clinic. Fortunately, my friend did not see this surgeon, and I took the initiative to file a complaint

Terrible Service.
I've now been to the office of Gary Chen where for the past 3 appointments, that I've driven an hour to get to, as well, paid exuberant amount for parking, only to be turned away with excuses, rescheduling for a couple more weeks away. I feel there is poor management to allow this to happen especially when a simple phone call would suffice, saving time and money. I've tried numerous times to call the offices in which after all the calls I've made, 99.99% end up unanswered, going directly to voicemail. I started coming to these offices, under a doctor I was comfortable with, Dr. Anderson, for about a year but he's left the offices, for some reason, my guess is he's found a better office to work from. I write this review, as I stand in line, behind only 2 other people, yet have all this time to write, simply waiting to be checked in. Tell me how that reflects the service...

All the stuff in the front counter bad attitude – Feb 20, 2020

What a waist of time!!! If you want to Be treated worse than you've ever been treated by the staff and by the doctor himself... Then this is the place for you. Oh and did I mention you'll be waiting in the waiting room for over an hour at least!!! And then you'll be taken to the doctor's office where you will spend about that same amount of time... When I approached the lovely manager, she informed me that I was lucky that I only wasted 2 hours of my day. She said that some people wait twice even three times longer than that. She said this to me with all of the evil distane in the world.... She truly feels as if she, and the whole office, has the right to waste each patient's time Like that... The waiting room is filthy, And run down. The whole staff has attitude, there extremely cocky, and hard to work with!!! If you get a referral from your insurance for this office, Or someone else tries to Send you there. I would run from this office, and this doctor, Like I would the plague!!! I

Nothing is smooth or easy. It’s difficult to get through to anyone, voice mails are always full, doctors don’t return calls and worst of all, the doctors won’t help you when you’re in excruciating pain. A terrible experience from beginning to end. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Terrible Clinic. They have scheduled surgery twice and cancelled after i made all the arrangements, rented durable medical devices, and literally this office is the keystone cops. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Awful service. If you call to speak with the office manager for example, she will put you on hold and disconnect you. if you ask for surgery scheduling because they put you to a voice mail that has no working voice mail. Wait times are up to 4 hours. choose someone else!!!!

My name is Kevin Flood. Doctor Gary Chen was referred to me as the best of the best, by an expensive Beverley Hills surgeon and that he was the only surgeon with the highly professional skills to take on such a serious reconstruction of my arm and wrist (after some bone doctor in Glendale screwed it up to a point I was in severe pain 24/7 and I could not turn my wrist or even use my hand to wipe my butt). I have no pain now and can throw a fastball and football w/my 14 year old son again and wor

0 Stars. Office staff does NOT answer their phones, Front desk does NOT have a voicemail, any voicemails for idv. departments have FULL inboxes and you CANNOT leave a message. Office staff did NOT fill out any forms they were from the doctor. Direct quote "You mean I gotta write his name on this form and everything?" They left ME to fill in the blanks with the BROKEN HAND I was there for! You will not be able to get a hold anyone if you can even manage to schedule an appointment, Go elsewhere.

Worst medical experience in my thirty plus years of living at Dr. Chen's downtown LA office. I have a fracture wrist & severely displaced thumb fracture which Dr. Chen did not fix. I'm switching doctors and need my X-rays, but his receptionist never answers the phone or answers and hangs up immediately. I waited over three hours at my lady appointment to see Dr. Chen. Wouldn't recommend him/his office to anyone.
