Not a very professional office, Drs and staff!!
Can’t see the doctor referred too, no warning from staff that they gave you an appt with a different one and when you want to change to another doctor they charge you a $100 admin fee. What a rip off!!

Stay away from Dr. Chen and CDIN!
Stay away from Dr. Chen and CDIN! I saw Dr. Chen about four times in total. He kept insisting that the pain I was feeling was just acid reflux, but would not listen when I said I had no symptoms of reflux. I agreed to surgery, but the pain didn't go away. So after a year of no relief, I went back for my follow-up, as instructed, and got treated like a crazy person for scheduling a follow-up and saying I was still in pain. He quite literally told me the pain was in my head. Months later I was in emergency surgery for a problem he never even bothered to test for but all my symptoms pointed to. As soon as he got the report from the hospital doctor, I got a letter saying I was no longer a patient of CDIN because of a breakdown in the patient-doctor relationship. I see many who questioned them receive this letter. I guess this is how they cover for ignoring a patient's pain. The patient does not come first here. Go somewhere that cares more about the patient than money and prestige.

Dr. Chen is a competent and pleasant doctor. The problem, a serious one, resides in his front office staff. In particular, I encountered a dangerously incompetent scheduler. I'll call her Ms X. On Dr. Chen's recommendation I had to make an appointment for imaging and Ms. X specified Quest Lab. Quest has literally zero telephone customer support. I would tell Ms. X I simply could not reach anybody at Quest and asked for her to help set up the appointment. She told me she could not do that. I asked to speak to her supervisor. Shortly after this request I inexplicably got a letter that I was no longer their patient, due to a breakdown in communication. Why? I learned that Quest only does blood work and not the imaging test the doctor wanted me to get. I believe Ms. X was trying to cover up this serious error from Dr. Chen. I believe Dr. Chen never found out about Ms. X's incompetence. By the way English was Ms X's 2nd language and I had to frequently ask her to repeat words,

Stay Away! I had to reschedule my colonoscopy a few times due to work and personal reasons and they ended up telling me that they refuse to have me as a patient and I could not make another appointment. I have never heard of this before. Regardless they were very vague when it came to letting you know the cost of the procedure as well. I would recommend seeing another doctor.

Dr Chen did not really listen to my list of symptoms and told me that I was "chronically constipated" and prescribed me Miralax and told me to take it every day. He performed a colonoscopy because fortunately I was due, and found that I had diverticulitis, which I had already told him because it was noticed by my urologist. He prescribed me Cipro for the infection, but never gave me dietary restrictions or any other advice or guidance going forward other than to take the laxative.

First appointment - he was timely, asked good questions, explained different scenarios, reviewed list of prescriptions and supplements - made suggestions and had nurse schedule appointment for procedures. The day of the procedure, a nurse at the facility remarked that Dr. Chen liked to be on time. That is much appreciated by patients. He provided photos and explanations right after the procedures. Wonderful doctor. I highly recommend him. Smart, polite, conscientious, thorough and on time!

Dr. Gary Chen, provided excellent thorough initial exam covering exactly the procedure for a surveillance colonoscopy. So for those of you never having had a colonoscopy that is very assuring to be able to understand why and how the procedure is done including body autonomy. His staff was also courteous and accommodating. He took the time to review my previous colonoscopy results. The procedure went well and he provided great followup.
