Dr. Gary Cockrell, DPM

On 9.29/23, Dr. Cockrell performed my bunionectomy. Everything went textbook perfect. He is an excellent surgeon. He focuses on quality care and really listens to his patients.

As a doctor, I believe that Dr. Cockrell is knowledgeable and has a great disposition with patients. He does not have any office staff in the building, which was a very uncomfortable experience being the only one in the office with the doctor as there were also no other patients. His secretary works remotely and uses a gmail account and personal cell phone as a point of contact. He also tried collecting payment before running through the insurance. He also is the only one that collects payments as Debbie does not work in the office.

I had a bad hammer toe on my left foot. And, I was having problems with a bunion on my right foot. Another doctor had already worked on the bunion several years ago, but he failed to straighten the toe. The bunion bump was still there, resulting in constant blisters and calluses. Dr. Cockrell recommended surgery for the hammer toe and the bunion, explaining the procedures and answering all my questions. The surgery went very well. And I was not in a cast! Instead, he used a removable boot which was wonderful. If you are having foot problems, please see Dr. Cockrell. You will find him to be very friendly and cordial.

Very thorough and explained the condition well. He did not rush to a surgical solution but advised as to his opinion sufficiently enough that I could make a personal decision. I found his demeanor and bedside manner to be excellent.

Dr Cockrell has provided excellent care to 3 members of our family. He's very knowledgeable with a kind manner. His office staff is also very helpful and professional.

He immediately made me feel welcome with his easy going nature. He was understanding of my work schedule which can be challenging when setting up an appointment. He listened to my concerns with empathy. He was very precise on the procedure, medicines, and restrictions. I highly recommend Dr. Cockrell.

Dr. Cockrell is very intelligent and listens attentively to your visit concerns. He offers various options in an effort to relieve pain/discomfort and follows through with your health concerns. Being referred by several other long time patients of him I found him to be a physician that would be easy to work with. Many patients have found him to be an outstanding surgeon.

Absolutely awful. Do yourself a favor a stay away. He has an "old school" mentality and has no beside demeanor and is awfully rude to his patients. I myself am a nurse and would not recommend him to my worst enemy. Find another podiatrist. Do not go to him.

Dr. Cockrell is an amazing doctor. He is patient and very helpful. I have had multiple ingrown surgeries and it has been a breeze each time. His staff is wonderful, Jessica is extremely helpful as well. I would recommend him to anyone who needs any type of podiatry care. He is great!

Dr cockrell conducted a radical bunionectomy on my right foot with excellent results. I can finally walk normally and wear proper shoes. I felt little to no pain from beginning to end. He was an excellent referral from my GP. If you need to have foot surgery- call him! He was wonderful:)

As a Physical Therapist who has treated several of Dr. Cockrell's patients, much high praise has been spoken by his PT clients regarding both post op and non invasive treatments. With proper compliance with Physical Therapy and post op rehab program, positive results are observed and expected.

I had bunion surgery 2 years ago and am in as much pain as I was before surgery. In addition to the pain, my big toe does not lay down flat to the floor as it did before. This condition is known as "elevated toe" or "cocked up big toe"-- I was sold an additional contraption after surgery to fix this. It is very painful to wear and hard to position correctly. While at physical therapy, I asked if they had seen another toe elevated like mine and was told yes, but only another patient of his!

Dr. Cockrell is an exceptional foot specialist. He is thorough, gentle and committed to ensure his patients are provided excellent care - surgery and follow-up. If you have hammertoes or other serious foot issues, he is the best choice. I can't thank Dr. Cockrell enough for his exceptional care over the last year. Highly recommend. Dr. Cockrell did surgery for bunions on both feet about 10 years ago, and then several months ago did surgery for Morton's neuroma. Both times the recovery was surprisingly easy, and the results were good. I was nervous about foot surgery after hearing other people's stories of their experiences with other doctors. Dr. Cockrell is a skilled surgeon though he's not quick to jump to that path unless it's necessary. I highly recommend him.
