Dr. Flangas is truly exceptional! I’ve been under Dr. Flangas’ care for about a year now, and I must say, from day two (not day one!), I knew he was the right person to fix my lower back. I’m extremely cautious when choosing a doctor, but choosing someone to perform surgery is an entirely different level of trust—and he earned mine. Before committing, I did extensive background checks, asked around, and made sure he was the best. And he is. Dr. Flangas is sweet, kind, and undoubtedly the smartest doctor I’ve encountered. He’s thorough, always on point, and while he has a slightly dry personality, it’s in the most endearing and “cute” way. At every appointment, he takes his time to talk to you—no rushing, no judgment—just like having a casual conversation over coffee in your own living room. It’s rare to find that kind of care and attention these days. I had surgery two weeks ago, and while I’ve gone through some excruciating pain (which is to be expected), the surgery itself went amazingly well. Despite the restrictions and discomfort, I’m recovering day by day, and I know I’m on the right path. His staff? Absolutely wonderful—warm, kind, and welcoming, just like him. If you’re ever in need of a neurosurgeon in Las Vegas, Dr. Flangas should be your ONLY choice. I trust him with my life and can’t recommend him enough!”

I originally sustained an on the job injury back in 2010. I had to have a multilevel micro discectomy with a partial laminectomy shortly thereafter.I was able to return to work full duty until 2022 when time, age, and general breakdown of my lower back caught up to me as he said it would. We then did a multilevel fusion of my lower lumbar with success. Dr Flangas is an honest person and doesn't waste yours or his time. He gave me a fair percentage estimation of alleviating pain and regaining strength in my lower extremities and he was correct. His demeanor sometimes can be a little off putting for those who don't realize he's just speaking to you straight and expressing what he's thinking realistically. I've put my life in his hands twice now and I wouldn't suggest anyone else here in the valley.

The ladies in the office are amazing, super friendly and always helpful. Dr Flangas is a lifesaver. I was in so much pain it was unbearable. He took his time answering all of our questions. We never felt rushed. It was like a conversation with a friend. I decided to have surgery and the outcome was amazing, the bedside manner was amazing, I cannot say enough how amazing this entire team is. This is where you want to go for the best care ever!

This guy appears to be a very nice guy upon meeting him. But in all actuality he's a hack. I received lower back surgery from him a couple years ago to only end up with chronic back pain and other back issues. I entrusted this man to do the right thing based on how long he’s been practicing, and how many successful surgeries he claims he’s had. I now have severe nerve damage throughout my lower extremities, I can no longer stand straight up from a bending position without being in pain with a very slow return. I stated to him shortly after surgery that i could no longer feel my toes. He replied oh that will go away after a year. Well it’s been 2-3 years now and things have only gotten worse. I had to end up going to see a Neurologist, and was diagnosed with chronic neuropathy due to the work that was performed. Never mind all the other issues that I’m now dealing with. I have not received any help from him moving forward. Please do your due diligence before considering this office.

Awesome staff, most professional doctor/surgeon in Las Vegas. Dr. Flangas informed me through every step of the surgery and the possible out come. The best thing my back great and the surgery change my life for the better.

Dr. Flangas has performed 2 microdiscectomies on my lower lumbar in 2014 and most recently 2022. He is very professional and conservative in recommending surgery. He explains all of the cons and his true feelings on the possible outcomes of surgery. I trust him. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a true professional. His staff is super friendly and to be honest, they make you feel like family and they have a great positive attitude.

Although always having back issues for years this year it progressed to a point of non functional. I could not walk or sit without extreme pain. After 5 months of numerous shots and therapy visits with pain management group my primary Doctor referred me to Dr. Flangas. It was a blessing. After consultation and review of MRI's Dr. Flangas suggested surgery. He was straight forward and explained risks and doubts but felt it was the only way to go. The surgery was scheduled in a very timely manner and was a success. Three months later I am mobile and getting better everyday. I am so grateful to Dr. Flangas for giving my active life back to me. I also have to give big kudos to his staff with special mention to Natalie and Theresa. They were so welcoming and helpful throughout the experience. The communication was excellent. Thank you!

Dr Flangas performed a major surgery on my back and I'm a new man now!

Was referred to Dr. Flangas by my neurologist after he reviewed my most recent MRI. He’s one who believes in surgery as a last resort only, but one look at my MRI, he knew what was needed. I got in to see Dr. Flangas the same week due to a cancellation and with the first phone call, I was treated amazingly well! I have been suffering from pain due to a 2009 car accident for the past 12 years, but nothing I had done previously had helped (including other surgeries). Dr. Flangas looked at my MRIs (2014 and 2022) and made a suggestion immediately, wondered why something wasn’t done back then. Needless to say, that statement was disheartening to me, yet hopeful. Surgery went very well along with my recovery. I am now almost 90 days out and feel so different than prior! I’m so grateful to Dr. Flangas and his incredible staff. They took very good care of me as well! I couldn’t ask for anything more!

Dr. Flangas is by far the best neurosurgeon out there and the only one I trust. He did my cervical fusions due to an auto-pedestrian accident and another after a car accident 11 years later. I trust no one more than I trust him. My last cervical fusion was absolutely incredible. I had zero pain in recovery and none still to this day (I am 8 months post-op). I am also fused from C3-C7 and maintain great motion. Make sure you follow all of his instructions and follow through with physical therapy. It's so important. I investigate all of my doctors so please be reassured I have already done the homework for you. I also need to add his office staff is just as incredible. They treat you like family and that’s what you become, family. Also, I don't think I have had to wait more than 10 minutes to get called in back. In fact, sometimes I don't even sit down because they are already ready for you to go back. Best neurosurgery care in Southern Nevada and even on the west coast in my opinion!

Incredible office where you are treated like a person not just an injury or illness. Superior knowledgeable doctor and support staff, I was never left wondering about my case, or what the next steps were. Physical therapy began before my surgery and continued after, making my recovery that much better! Thank you Dr. Flangas and nurse Natalie, (and the rest of the crew too) you all made my recovery from this injury as painless as possible.

I met Dr. Flangas in 2012 with a back injury I sustained at work. I went back to see Dr. Flangas 3/2022 with a reoccurrence of the injury. This time it required surgery. Dr. Flangas was compassionate and did not rush during my consult. He suggested surgery, which I agreed with, and I was scheduled less than a week later. His office dealt with workers comp for a seamless process. 4 months later I was released to work feeling very good with a positive outlook. I am very grateful for Dr. Flangas and his staff.

Dr. Flangas was very conservative, thoughtful, and thorough. I saw three surgeons and he was the only doctor that attended every visit. All the other surgeons just sent their PA and immediately tried to schedule the surgery without even a visit from the doctor. Dr. Flangas took the time to make sure that surgery was the only option we had left. Finally, the surgery went great and I feel like I have my life back.

Dr Flangas and his entire staff were professional, very through and explain procedures step by step.

I had gone to another surgeon for a consult and was put off by him so sought a second opinion with Dr. Flangas. I am so happy I did. The office got me scheduled within two weeks and he completed a much more thorough review of my records and discussed the areas that needed to be addressed - 2 herniated discs and pinched nerves which were causing extreme pain and limited my ability to use my right arm. We discussed options and he showed be some models - in addition to providing me a link to information to review on my own. He encouraged any questions and placed the decision on me and encouraged me to decide what was best for me. After seeing the imaging it was clear to me that the only option was surgery - injections would not have helped the herniated discs and nerves being pinched by the herniated discs. Once I decided on the surgery they were able to schedule me promptly and walked me through all the steps. I am two months out from surgery and back to work. No regrets at all!

Dr. Flangus is the most amazing doctor I have ever been to. He healed my back to 110% after 40 years of pain I am now completely pain-free and have never felt better. His staff is also incredible, each and every person there is top-notch!! here in Vegas especially it is difficult to find someone that’s amazing. I highly highly recommend Dr. Flangus!

Amazing surgeon! Only person I would trust with my cervical fusion. On top of the fact that he is skilled he is also kind. He only does what’s best for the patient. His staff is wonderful. They are all very efficient and go above and beyond for you!
