Bow down to the almighty!!!
He may be a skilled neurosurgeon, but frankly what a complete narcissist! Do not ask pesky brain tumor questions because it's a waste of his time! He'll just walk out of the consult with a demeaning & dismissive attitude. What kind of self important D-Bag talks non stop about being 'the best.' Seriously? It's honestly so over the top it makes me wonder what he's hiding... self doubt, incompetence? Or are you really delusional enough to believe you're God?

Horrible doctor, money hungry, non communicative
Dr Britz was recommended for my daughter who was having neck and back pain, nauseau, vomiting. They checked her VP shunt his assistant gave us various possible problems. It was recommended that they do an angiogram. We took her for the angiogram, Dr Britz never went in or met with my daughter after the procedure! He came to the waiting area and said 'nothing major ' and walked off. A little over a week after the procedure my daughter had a seizure! Come to find out she had a colon infection and ALL her symptoms went away after 3 days in the hospital of antibiotics and under the care of a GI dr.This Dr has an impressive resume online, but we had a horrible experience! Now the bill comes 6 months later for $95k!!!!

Exceptional Team delivered exceptional experience
In May 2020, I had a Cerebral Spinal Fluid Leak and needed a VP shunt. Dr. Britz and his team were exceptional. Once I learned the best way to reach them was via email, they were responsive and went above and beyond to help me. I ended up having subsequent unrelated issues, and they helped me get referrals to get into the best providers within the Methodist organization. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am for my experience with this team.

There is no finer doctor you want crawling around in your head than Dr. Gavin Britz. He is an extremely busy Dr. with many responsibilities however when it comes to your care/surgery you are number one to him. I had two brain surgeries within 11 months, one before Covid, one during covid. The first was an aneurysm caught before rupture and the second was a subdural hematoma from falling off a bike (helmet on) during covid when we had nothing to do! Symptoms showed much later. Dr.. Britz ordered MRI & then CT and I was back in the hospital experiencing excellent care. Dr. Britz has the finest PA, Alex, who will answer all your questions and make the experience seamless.

His office does not return phone calls. He didn't prepare us for the worst. Many surgery cancellations. Surgery was done to remove my Dad's brain tumor in January 2020. He got every complication including blood clots & MRSA. When asked why he was nonresponsive for 18 days, Dr. Britz replied "At least he's still alive". Only would visit for a minute here & there. My Dad stayed in ICU for 1 1/2 mths. He is at home on a feeding tube, in diapers, still with a trach. His right eye won't close & he's in a wheelchair. Dr. Britz over promised & under delivered. My Dad went from a very active, 5 mile every other day runner & basketball referee to an invalid in a wheelchair. Noone from his office has ever called for a follow up or to see if my Dad is even still alive. Please think twice before you see this "Top Neurosurgeon in the Nation" .

Did nothing to help prepare us for the worst. Put us up the oldest darkest part of the hospital. Did nothing to find us other doctors at Methodist we would like. When things went wrong, left us with mediocre floor doctors who treated us like just another number and disappeared. We were in that hospital for two months and saw him twice after the procedure. What a nightmare.

I came to Dr Britz from Memphis TN by recommendation from Dr Osama Gaber. I presented with a tumor on my brainstem. I was so afraid after getting no comfort from doctors here. Dr Britz and his FNP assured me that I would be just fine. They were very confident in their abilities, I began to feel good about them too. My surgery went excellent. ICU four days and I was just amazed. I had the best hospital stay ever. He is the best and blessed. Great, Great Surgeon. I work with surgeons. I love him!
