A Christian Surgeon
Dr. Cousins performed a 5 way bypass on me on March 13, 2023. Surgery went well and I was pleased he prayed with me after surgery. It comforts my heart to know that a fellow Christian relies on Almighty God to guide his hands. I highly recommend him and know that he is a God fearing, God honoring man. I can think of no one better to take care of my heart, short of Almighty God himself. Praise God from who all blessings flow. God is GOOD. ALL the time.

After extensive testing at Raleigh General Hospital, I was transferred to St. Mary's Hospital around July 5, 2018 for heart surgery. Mine was 33% functional. Dr. Cousins was assigned as my cardiologist. I found him to be pleasant, cordial, professional, and precise in his diagnostic procedure. He scheduled me for a 5-bypass procedure as soon as my medical statistics were improved to the point of viability. During his bedside visits, I never found him to "act in a hurry," and I quickly observed an inkling of the true depth of his knowledge and intellect, which gained my immediate respect. As Editor of the Vandalia MENSA newsletter and their Poet Laureate, I appreciate individuals who have a high intellectual prowess; yet, push themselves even harder to gain more knowledge and ability in their field. It was obvious that Dr. Cousins was one of those. I am writing this review one year after my operation, a testimony to Dr. Cousin's expertise.

Dr. Cousins was called to do surgery on my husband the night before the surgery. My husband had a aortic abdominal anyerisim that was a 4.8 just 2 tenths of a cm from 5 cm. Dr. Cousins was suppose to be at the hospital early to do a 7 am surgery. He chose not to SHOW UP, between 10 am and 11 am I asked to see his "person" and then fired him. he did the surgery at 6 pm anyway. My husband was in EXTREME pain.

Dr. Cousins responded to an emergent situation and for that I am grateful. Following the surgery He spent less than two minutes with me and was not courteous enough to speak with me in a private consultation room. When I asked care related questions he refused to answer, telling me he had to go because his wife made corned beef for dinner. We walked away with my questions and my Dad's care needs unmet. Clearly corned beef is more important than Dr. Cousins patients.
