Dr. Geoffrey McKinzie, MD

ER visit in October. He was in a hurry. No exam. No imaging. Told me I had a "pulled muscle." I felt sure by my pain level it was much more serious. Sadly, I was right. It was a herniated disc with a pinched nerve at L4-5 and calcific tendonitis of the hip. The hasty diagnosis set me back weeks jumping through hoops with my PCP and insurance to get the imaging, evaluation and physical therapy I needed. Lost sick time, weeks of not sleeping through the night. All through the holidays. Thought I had put the fiasco behind me. Now, one last insult, the bill for the MD who set the nightmare in motion. Terribly disappointed, frustrated and feeling devalued as a human and patient.

My fiancée visited the ER today. She was rushed out of the hospital after having multiple signs of heart attack. She has an arrhythmia and after she said that it seemed he just blamed all current issues on that. He said that nothing is TOO concerning to HIM and she needed to leave. They confirmed tachycardia and her blood pressure was 145/94. I would not trust this man with my families lives ever again. This was AFTER a woman who was also in the ER and was also being seen by dr Mckinzie was borderline abused. Forced to roll in bed with broken bones while the nurse kept telling him that she didn’t need her to move, aggressively giving her orders, and very obviously hurting her, while she was begging to be killed because of the pain he caused. This man needs his license revoked and if any other doctor can confirm that my fiancée is having any sort of medical emergency we will be pursuing legal action Do not allow yourself to be seen by this pathetic excuse of a doctor

My daughter was seen by Dr. McKinzie at Mercy Gilbert hospital with a complex health condition and the Emergency Room was packed. My daughter was subsequently admitted for several days and during this entire time I felt that the only MD who was extremely knowledgeable, caring, attentive and sharp (though he was under very stressful conditions, he took the time) through her stay was Dr. McKinzie. Wished he could be cloned and be on every floor at Mercy Gilbert, they need him badly.
