Tl;dr Dr. Haidukewych is an excellent surgeon, but terrible with options if you have any post surgical complications. My mother was referred to Dr. Haidukewych after another doctor determined her to be too complex for them. My mother has a full spinal fusion, fused sacroiliac joints, and is an active cancer patient. She had AVN in both hips and the steroids from cancer treatment just ate away at what was left of them. Dr. Haidukewych performed a bilateral hip replacement on my mother April 2024. We were grateful to have the been referred to such a skilled and talented surgeon. He is truly a unicorn at his craft and has the latest and greatest tools available to him. The new orthopedic office off of Columbia street is great and staff are very kind. It runs like a well oiled machine and is very efficient. If I had bad hips, I would 100% want Dr. H to do the surgery. Dr. Haidukewych, however, is terrible at after care. When my mother had her hip replacement surgery he didn’t come by to say how it went. Didn’t even send a PA. The nurses gave us the information on how the surgery went. His focus is definitely on cutting. When my mother went to her surgical follow up appointment she was prescribed physical therapy, as expected. Since the surgery, my mother has dislocated her hips 8 times (7 times in 2024 and 1 time in 2025). I do not fault Dr. H’s surgical skills as my mother was on active chemotherapy last year which made healing difficult and, as previously mentioned, her body is complex. However, his lack of offering any alternative other than “if it gets worse we may to revision surgery” is frustrating and disappointing. His focus, again, is on whether or not he can you open. It’s like the muscles and ligaments around her hips don’t matter at all. He spends 5 minutes with you, doesn’t fully listen to your concerns or what you say, and then leaves. Today, April 28, 2025, he came in and said his piece about “your spine makes it difficult”, “your spine doesn’t flex like most people”, “if it gets worse we may do revision surgery”. If it gets worse in what way, Dr. H? You said you want to see her back in 6 months. For what? So you can spend another 5 minutes and bill insurance for $250? Our time is also valuable. Right after he finished saying his piece he got up to leave and I asked about physical therapy. I mentioned she didn’t benefit last year being in and out of the hospital. As he walked out the door he said he would write a script and to wait. So we waited another 10 minutes. The 15 minute insurance billed appointment is 5 minutes with the doctor and 10 waiting for a physical therapy prescription that he didn’t even sign. My mother will no longer be a patient of Dr. H (unless she truly need surgery again) and we will be looking for another doctor at who will actually take a minute to consider the fact the patient is in fact a human and maybe isn’t looking to just be cut open again. I am grateful he did her surgery but am furious at this perpetual cycle of “will we/won’t we do surgery to correct this”. Stop wasting our time and money with this and the “see you in 6 months”. Either there are no options and you need to be straightforward in saying there is nothing you can do right now/potentially ever or take a minute to actually listen to the patient in front of you and create a game plan specific to the patient. For Dr H: Do better.

Dr H gave me my life back and is the finest surgeon I have ever met ( I’m an RN with 30 years experience). I had 2 previous botched surgeries by another surgeon and he was the only one who had the expertise to correct the damage.

I lived through 13 years of pain and 4 specialist who’s only answer for my pain was you need to learn to live with it. Dr H took one look at a simple X-ray and saw the problem. The cup had come loose and was popping in and out of place as I moved. When he did the revision one said the cup was so loose he removed it with his fingers. After the procedure I had no more pain. Since then he has replaced my knee and all is fantastic

Dr Haidukewych has preformed a hip and knee replacement on me. Both were very successful. My knee surgery in Sept was a breeze. I was back to my gym In less then 3 weeks. He explained clearly what needed to be done. He took time to answer all my questions. Dr H is caring and very professional. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

Failed to explain surgical procedure prior to discharge. Had to go see another Dr to understand what they had done. Called office due to issue with pain meds and office never called back.

Dr. H is nothing short of amazing! I have had seversl infections after having a knee replacement. Numerous surgeries later, I am happy to say that I am recovering well. The fact that I still have my leg is attributed only to Dr. H's dedication and expertise. Wonderful Dr!

Dr H is a miracle worker. I traveled across the country consulting the "best of the best" and decided the only person I trusted for my hip replacement was him. Mine was a complicated operation with a lot of additional health issues. It is 2 weeks after my operation and I couldn't be happier. Every day just gets better.

Dr H diagnosed my pain as being due to severe arthritis of my hip, told me I needed replacement surgery but that I needed to strengthen my legs and return in 2 months before he could consider surgery. I did what he asked, and at my return visit he tells me that I also need to lose 50 pounds before he can consider surgery. 2 wasted months and continued progressing severe pain and a return visit with no purpose other than to hear what he should have told me 2 months ago. This is a money mill!

I had a total right hip replacement two years ago. I was recommended by another doctor to see him. I was amazed how quickly he found the problem. I went to see three other surgeons regarding my pain and all three could not find the problem. He is not much of a talker, but sure knows his stuff. He arranged for my surgery very quickly. He did a great job, my hip is back to normal. Now, I am facing a left knee replacement (I don't know when) but the pain so bad, it won't be long now.

Dr. Haidukewych just performed a total knee replacement on my 88 year old mother. It wasn't a walk through the park, by any means, but she is doing very well considering her age and only being 8 weeks past her surgery. She is walking without a cane or walker, has practically no scar and both of us were pleased with the way Dr. Haidukewych would take all the time we needed to explain things and answer our questions.

Dr. H did a total hip replacement of my left hip 3 years ago. Within 8 weeks of surgery I was back on the racquetball court. At 12 weeks post-surgery played racquetball tournament. As far as I can tell the hip has been perfect for the last 3 years. It's getting about time for a total knee replacement due to osteoarthritis. Wouldn't consider anybody but Dr. H doing my knee.

I spent 6 months searching for a dr who would do my knee replacement, and who I felt comfortable with and who was part of Orlando Health system. I had a previous hip replacement at Osceola Regional with different surgeon, who was ok, but Osceola was the only hospital he uses, hated that hospital. I wound up with a year long infection nightmare from that. As soon as meeting Dr H i knew he was the right choice. Competant & confident! I am 5 weeks post TKR and doing well. Thanks Dr H!

The doctor is wonderful. Staff on the phone could use some work. Need to listen and resolve problem rather then passing them off to someone else. I'm confident my mother's surgery will go well.

Dr. Haidukewych is a very good Dr. My problem was with his staff when I tried for over a week to get them to send a letter with Dr. Haidukewych note that due to my line of work that the healing needed a couple more weeks than what my leave of absence was for. This was so I could get at least the 50% of my pay. I called 3 times and was assured that a letter would be faxed to the FM,A company my employer uses. I talked with , Sara and today I talked with Jennifer- Still no letter.??

Total hip replacement at 44 years old here. We researched all of FL and traveled specifically for Dr. H and I will do so again for my other hip when needed! He is thoughtful, interested and literally the best doctor I have ever encountered. I would travel across the country if I had to. Without a second thought.
