Dr. George Liu Highly Recommend
I came to Dr. Liu after experiencing a 4 car accident that nearly took my life in 2021. My right ankle was badly damaged along with other areas. After 2 surgeries in a Tyler, Texas hospital I asked Dr. Liu for a second opinion. One of the best decisions I have ever made in my entire life. The doctor in Tyler told me twice that he may have to amputate my right foot. Now after Dr. Liu replaced my right ankle and talus, I am walking amazingly well. I can't express in these few words what Dr. Liu has meant in my life. He has been spot on every time I have asked about my surgery and rehab. Thorough, professional, caring, understanding and his expertise has me on the road to almost total recovery. I have seen a remarkable difference in my physical well being since first seeing Dr. Liu. If I were to rate my experience with Dr. George Liu, I would give him an A Plus Plus Plus. I will forever be indebted to this great surgeon for helping me live a normal life once again.

Successful Foot Surgery
In hindsight I should have stayed overnight, this surgery was more extensive than thought. Do not know who's decision that was. I guess if I had demanded to stay they would have accommodated me. So far 8 months after surgery X-rays look good. The best part of this is I was never in pain.

Forever Grateful!
Dr. Liu has provided outstanding corrective surgery and post surgery care for me, as well as excellent advice for less critical issues I sometimes have had for my feet. His knowledge of every aspect of the foot is simply incredible. His care and attention are as comforting as they are inspiring. I will FOREVER be grateful for the excellent results and wonderful impact that Dr. Liu has had not just upon my feet, but also for my overall health.

Wonderful Doctor
After enduring pain for years and being misdiagnosed by 2 other orthopedists, Dr. Liu was able find the source of my pain. I had surgery for a torn tendon, and am now undergoing physical therapy. I can’t thank Dr. Liu enough for listening to me and taking the time to find out what was wrong. He always kindly communicated what he was doing and why. I highly recommend Dr. Liu for foot pain.

Excellent Doctor
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Liu!!! He did surgery on my kid's ankle. They have EDS and he was very familiar with that and the longer recovery time for it. He has awesome bedside manner, is extremely friendly and answered all of our questions so that we knew exactly what was going to happen. On their 2 year check up, we discovered another issue and they will have to have another surgery, which he will perform. I really like that he follows up as often as he does, so that when issues like this come up, he can take care of them.I have had bad plantar fasciitis and he was able to help me get it taken care of! No more pain!!! I would highly recommend him to anyone with foot or ankle pain!!!

Poor communication skills.
I had a stress fracture. I already went with an mri but they still did X-ray. Was it really needed. When the mri is already showing I have stress fracture. Just wanted some money from insurance. Also Dr George lui might be knowledgeable but very poor communication from him. The nurse gave me the wrong size boot. And just after a day I came back to change the boot, mentioning the boot is small I would like a bigger boot, they said I have to pay out of pocket. We will not exchange. May be my bad day that was. But would not go to this doc again. I heard UTsouthwestern is a good hospital but my first experience was not good at all.

I saw Dr. Liu for a broken foot. He was great and I didn't need to have surgery. Unfortunately I had a small complication during healing and he quickly diagnosed and treated it. I am almost good as new although I can't blame my age and related slow healing on Dr. Liu. I would highly recommend him for any foot need.

I am convinced that Dr. Liu has to be one of the absolute best doctors in the entire world at repairing Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD). Dr. Liu completely reconstructed by foot, and the result a year and a half later is complete mobility, full range of motion in the ankle and foot, and no pain. Absolutely fantastic results. He also is great at communication. He tells you what to expect, and what he can do. And then he delivers. He has my complete trust and confidence, and if I ever have any foot or ankle issues again, it doesn’t matter where I live then, I will absolutely come back to Dr. Liu.

I am 32 years old and had been plagued with chronic foot pain for nearly 8 years before finding Dr. Liu. I had seen 5 other doctors, had 3 mri’s done, countless X-rays, injections, physical therapy twice, and even a surgery. Not one doctor could figure out what was causing my problems. He figured out what was wrong, and fixed me! He seriously has changed my life. And his staff is just as amazing as he is. I will be forever thankful for them.

Dr. Liu relies on evidential medicine to determine treatments. He's very knowledgeable about the efficacy of the various treatment options. He spends time with you explaining the options and listening to your concerns and answering your questions. I have a lot of confidence in him as one of the best foot and ankle surgeons in Dallas. Unfortunately UT Southwestern is a dysfunctional place for patients in a number of ways.
