Dr. Gerald Isbell, MD

Was my Dr for 30 years and my daughters for 3. He dx me after 20 yrs of GI issues and military drs saying in my head. Always took care of me and fu was always a must. Over years with debilitating pain and 25 plus daily trips he never stopped trying to find the right meds. He took care of all the complications that crohns can cause you verses sending you too another dr. Pretty much never went into remission over the years with several surgeries he always made sure the surgeons took care of me. Last couple years bf he retired at medical city Dallas I was in trial studies …as I still am 4 years later and talk about limbo and being so lost bc no dr like him. None. Currently I’m in horrendous shape w possible surgery w 3 areas partial blockage and how I wish he was still my dr. So with that being said I’ve heard he is practicing again at southwestern as well as asst professor so if you need a caring Dr go find him.

Dr. Ibsell has been my gastroenterologist for the last 15 years! When I came to him, I had seen about 5 other doctors who were unable to properly diagnose my issue. Dr. Isbell diagnosed my ulcerative colitis during the first visit and he also developed a plan with medication that was very effective! His calm demeanor, vast experience and bedside manner are at the highest standards.

Doctor did not prescribe IBS medications that he thought would work for me. Test results were glossed over and he never showed them to me. Office clean and easy to get appointment and that is all.

Professional and welcoming staff. Dr. Isbell took his time and answered all my questions and listened to my replies.

I rarely write reviews, but I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Isbell. He takes his time to listen to concerns, explains things and I leave having 100% faith with his treatment plan. Office organized with friendly and professional staff. Short wait time for visit. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a GI doctor. Krista Denton

I would recommend Dr. Isbell to the world! He has experience. He listens. He is one of the few doctors I have met that you know cares. You don't leave wondering. He also has a good bedside manner. His staff is very professional, yet nice. everyone communicate effectively. Recommending a doctor is a big deal - I would recommend him and know I would be doing the right thing for my friends and family who need care. I can trust Dr. Isbell.

Wonderful! Took my 19 year old daughter to Dr. Isbell because of stomach problems. He is excellent with teenage girls. Easy to talk to, asked very detailed questions and he listened very closely to her concerns/issues. Dr. Isbell has a great bedside manner and explained very clearly the options to resolve her stomach problems. A few easy tests later - problem resolved. 5 stars!
