Told me it was just scar tissue
I had my thyroid removed then one year after some lymph nodes. When he was sent my most recent scan, he said it was just scar tissue. When I asked if he had bothered to read my blood work, he said he would call me back. He did and said that he showed my scans to a radiologist and they could not confirm where the Cancer was and I should let it grow. Thank goodness I finally got into someone else. Yesterday I had an eight hour surgery done by another doc who called in an esophagus specialist during the surgery because she saw a mass there. The people who die from Typhoid Cancer it is because it goes to the trach or esophagus. I trusted my gut to get a second opinion and I hope you all do also.

Rude and not helpful
Dr. Rothman was covering for our Physician he was rude on the phone and refuse to call in a medication for my son even though it was important the medication was started tonight. Very disappointed with Dr Rothman and poor follow up by staff.

Worst Visit!
Dr. Rothman’s front office staff was extremely rude an impersonal. The doctor, himself, spent 10 minutes in the room- 9 of which he spent lecturing both me and my wife about things that had nothing to do with my issue, and 1 of which he looked at me, said he doesn’t know what’s going on and to give the problem up to a year to heal itself. I spent more than a month waiting for this appointment and was looking forward to getting some answers. So disappointing! Not to mention we both left feeling judged, defeated and in disbelief from what had just taken place. Would NEVER recommend him or return under any circumstances. The only reason I gave 1 star was for his nurse, who was very kind.

Dr. Rothman is the absolute best surgeon and doctor I have ever seen! He was brilliant in every way, and made me feel comfortable, informed, safe, and at peace with a very scary surgery. I had been referred by my endocrinologist to him because I was told “he is the best”. Believe it! You want this man to perform your surgery, and his staff to help. Staff was outstanding and so efficient. My pain is nothing near what it could have been, and my scar is so minimal. My husband and I agree - He is simply the best! I’m so grateful he was my surgeon and I can’t recommend him high enough.

Dr. Rothman performed a six-hour facial surgery to remove a large adenoid cystic carcinoma. This type of cancer is referred to as slow growing and “relentless.” It grows on nerves and often reappears. To this end, Dr. Rothman also remove many lymph nodes in the neighboring area and a salivary gland. Prior to meeting Dr. Rothman, I had seen approximately 10 doctors many times over a 3-year period to find out why the area around my ear hurt all the time, only to be offered nose sprays. After my family doctor finally ordered an ex ray of the area, I was referred to Dr. Rothman who quickly scheduled surgery. Two-and-a half years later, I remain cancer free with only a mild Lymphedema at the surgery site, which I will happily live with. I thank Dr. Rothman for his quick action in saving my life. Although what I went through was undoubtedly rough, I found Dr. Rothman to be a great doctor and an exceptional person. He never cut me short and was kind and lighthearted when needed.

I’ve had a throat problem that I’ve had for years. It’s gotten worse and now it affects my swallowing. I was referred to Dr. Glen B. Rothman, MD. I tried to explain my symptoms but he wouldn’t listen to them. He kept referring to my prior condition and said he could do nothing for me. He then reluctantly used a scope and looked into my right nostril. I’m not a medical professional but my issue is with the left side of my throat which I made clear. I explained that my problem had worsened and I was having trouble clenching my swallow muscles, which he ignored. He just again referred to the length of time I’ve had this situation. I think maybe he could use a refresher course in medicine. Either way I still have a swallow problem and I’m out 20 bucks. If I had read his reviews here I would have been better off giving the 20 dollar co pay to a homeless person on a street corner. It would have been better spent. “YOU” have a nice day, Dr. Glen B. R

If you are not nearly positive you have cancer, do NOT see this doctor. Was instructed by an internist to see an ENT after my CT report stated I had swelling of lymph nodes and tonsils, along with pulmonary nodule in chest. He reviewed CT and said absolutely nothing is wrong with me - the last doctor didn't know how to interpret the report. Didn't look at medical history or ask about my symptoms - was completely dismissed with no steps for moving forward. Absolute worst doctor experience I have ever had!

I went to Dr. Rothman for a tonsillectomy and have chronic health issues so I have seen quite a few doctors, some of them absolutely horrible. That being said, my expectations weren’t too high.. But, wow, he went above and beyond. After the tonsillectomy surgery I had A LOT of issues with pain and his nurse was always available to speak with and he even spoke to me directly asking how he could help ??!!! He was so kind, took the time to answer all of my questions both before and after surgery, and even asked me to call and follow up with how I was doing after post op. I wish I could give more than 5 stars, he is seriously one of the best doctors I’ve ever seen. I’m so glad I was referred to him!

Doctor Rothman treated my husband for Stage 4 Throat and Tongue Cancer 10 years ago. If it wasn't for Dr. Rothman my husband would not be here today, he might not have the best bedside manner and he can come off as a little arrogant but one of the nurses warned me about that because at first I didn't like how he spoke to me, but the nurse said putting that aside this is the doctor you want to treat your husband and she was right on. My family and I are so grateful to have had him on our team of doctors. I highly recommend him.

My last visit was confirmed twice on the day of the visit, only for me to show up, fill out paperwork, and wait for 45 minutes, only to have the nurse inform me that Rothman is too big a coward to see me! His waiting room was full of patients with no masks, but he wouldn't see me (fully masked) because he is scared to see laryngectomy patients. Because he's a coward. He's also just not a nice person. His office just told me he'd see me if I got a COVID test. I told his office that I'll get one when he gets one! (I'm a lot less likely to test positive than he is! In short: Find someone (anyone) else!

Dr. Rothman diagnosed and performed surgery on my tongue for Squamous Cell Carcinoma in December of 2019. I of course was concerned. There was never a doubt in his mind that the surgery he was about to perform was going to be successful and the outcome for me was going to be a complete removal of the cancer. He called me every step of the way during diagnosis, pre surgery and after surgery. His demeanor was confident and matter of fact. I’ll take that bedside manner any day. His credentials are impeccable. Several staff at the hospital told me I had one of the best surgeons they had ever worked with. I am grateful to have met this man.

Dr. Rothman removed cancer from my tongue a little over a year ago. Several reviews on this website complain about Dr. Rothman’s bedside manner, but I found him to be very pleasant. However, even if I thought he was an arrogant jerk, I still would have chosen him for my surgeon, because he is the best. If you have an oral cancer nothing is certain, and no doctor or surgeon can give you a 100% promise of recover. However, if you want your best odds, go with Dr. Rothman.

My wife had cancer surgery on her tongue complicated by persistent pain at the surgical site after the surgery. When confronted by the issue, Dr. Rothman referred her back to her family physician for management of the problem, acknowledging lack of understanding of the problem. He didn’t even try to find out why she was having the problem. He merely brushed off her complaint and referred her back to her family physician for management created by a surgical procedure that he created.

I am very pleased with Dr. Rothman and his staff. From the onset, he was honest, friendly, proficient and timely in providing his assessment and pretreatment biopsy to validate his observations. He kept me well informed prior to and post surgery, and conducted the surgery in an organized, efficient and timely manner. The results were very successful and my satisfaction with Dr. Rothman is 100%+!

Saved my life. I am happy to reflect on this day. 10 years and 1 day ago Dr. Rothman performed a 3.5 hour surgery on my neck. The tumor that popped out of my parotid gland 6 weeks before had grown larger than an egg, which became entwined in many nerves that control facial muscles. I am certain that the 5 other doctors that recommended him to me and/or applauded his work afterward were correct in their sentiments. "Dr. Rothman did exceptionally fine work using meticulous care." His level of compassion and skill left me with every facial nerve intact and 100% cancer free after 10 years. Can't express my gratitude enough.
