Dr. Glorimar Atiles, MD

Dr. Atiles fixed a double inguinal hernia for me in early December 2021. I was very nervous going into the surgery - at 42 years old it was my first time going under for a procedure. She answered all my questions at the pre-op appointments and was very understanding and approachable. Surgery was laproscopic and took about an hour, was discharged a few hours after waking up. Was told what to expect with recovery and although the first week was tough, as I had been warned, it got easier. Recovery was rapid from week 2 and by week 5 I was feeling better than before surgery. I had read online (I know, always a bad idea) some people's experiences with this surgery was not so great, reports of chronic pain and discomfort several months post op. I was worried about that but didn't need to be. Two months out I feel fantastic. I would highly reccomend Dr. Atiles, she is very knowledgeable and skillful. Oh and follow the advice on lifting restrictions in weeks post-surgery for full recovery.

Dr. Atiles is a wonderful surgeon. She performed an open inguinal hernia repair for our 50 year old Down Syndrome son using sedation rather than general anesthesia which could have posed a danger to him. His surgery was scheduled at 7:30 am and he was home before 2 pm to our home about 50 miles away. Additionally, during the surgery, a preoperative hypermobile testicle issue was discovered and Dr. Atiles arranged for a top-rated urologist to repair that at the same time and avoiding scheduling another surgery. John experienced almost now swelling and pain was minimal to non-existent by the day following the surgery. The post operative instructions were helpful and complete. We found Dr. Atiles to be a warm caring, person. She consulted with us for eight months of "watchful waiting" prior to recommending that surgery should be scheduled. We recommend Dr. Atiles most highly to anyone considering hernia or other types of surgery. We are thankful for her care and skills.

Extremely pleased with Dr. Atiles as both a surgeon and as a person. She is competent and capable. She is extremely gifted as a surgeon and yet easy to talk to and not pretentious at all. Made me feel very comfortable and at ease before going into the O.R. I would highly recommend her!!

DR.Atiles is a caring Dr. I was referred to her office by my Gastrointestinal Dr. She is so kind and compassionate. When people are in pain they are scared and worried. She stated she will get me through this difficult time. We came up with a plan and I feel I am in great hands.!!!
