Knowledgeable but too busy
I had been going to Dr. Sun for years. I had an optical emergency and called her office. I was told that she was “too busy and too important” to see me. I asked if I could see someone else in that office at Weill Cornell. I was told “no” — “we don’t do that.”

Made to wait. And wait. And wait.
Not a good experience. I waited 35 minutes after my appointment time to be shown into the exam room. I was actually examined by her for less than 10 minutes of the hour and a half I spent there.

Dr. Grace Sun is a very professional and methodical practitioner of her field. Imbued with confidence surely by her experience, Dr. Sun gave me confidence in the outcome even before the cataract removals and goniotomies she performed. More importantly, she was as involved in the post-surgery care as she was pre-surgery.

My 65 year old mom went to see the doc all the way from Queens to the city in this snow and got 20 min late and they returned her back seeing they cannot see her because of the busy schedule. I called and requested but said no and returned her.

Appointments related to eye problems are primarily handled by interns assigned to this practice and other medical staff. Follow up for Perscription’s was handled by administrators with no consistency for followthrough. The paperwork for my Perscription for an eye condition was never handled to completion by the practice after multiple calls and requests. Telephone wait times for staff are long. Doctor did not return the single phone call made to request intervention.

Dr. Sun and her associates provided a range of diagnostic tests on my initial visit and arranged for additional diagnostic baseline tests for a 6 month follow-up. She took a thorough history and clearly heard concerns I had.
