Unresponsive team
I have been trying for over a year now to get an apt with Dr. Lervick. Dozens of calls and VM's left to who I guess is the only person who can schedule for him by the name of Hailey with no return calls . My Dr. has sent two referrals now thinking that would initiate them to call to schedule an apt NOPE. I have even done the request apt on line form 3X's NO CALLS. If you get a call from Hailey you will be one of the lucky ones because after now a full year of trying to get apt I still have not gotten one.

I’ve had an ongoing shoulder issue, and had multiple images done. I was sent to him by his colleague who performed an ulnar nerve transposition surgery that ending up affecting my shoulder. His team required him to review my case before scheduling me to see him, I was told repeatedly this was to ensure that he would be the right person to see. His team informed me that he would see me, and I had to wait seven months to see him. I get to the appointment, having been in absolute excruciating pain for months, and he looked at my images, looked at me and said there’s nothing he can do, there’s nothing wrong with my shoulder. He then tried to gaslight me into thinking it’s all in my head, literally asking me “is there anyone you have you can talk to about this pain?” And I said, “like a pain clinic doctor?” And he said “no, like a therapist.” And I said, “I have a therapist for my learning disability, but she doesn’t do pain. Should I go to a pain clinic?” He said “no, just talk to your therapist and your friends and family.” I repeatedly said how excruciating my shoulder pain was, how it was radiating into my hand causing nerve pain and the ulnar claw, and that I could not go on like this. “Do I need physical therapy? Is there truly nothing?” Something HAD to be wrong! Even his colleague who sent me to him had said so! But no, he just looked at me — and I was crying at this point — and said “I can see you’re very upset, but you should talk to a therapist so you can get used to living with this pain.” And got up and left. It was less than five minutes of him in the room with me. I complained to the PA or nurse or whoever it was who’d brought me back to the room, but she just nodded at me wide-eyed while I cried and demanded that it be put on my record that he refused to treat me. Let me tell you, I got more opinions on my shoulder. It is dislocated at the AC joint, with ribs dislocated and pinching my ulnar nerve under my armpit. Even my Primary Care Physician saw from the MRI report. As a young woman with chronic illness, I’m used to not being taken as seriously as I should be, especially by older male doctors, but this was INSANE. I’ve never felt more disrespected by a doctor in my life.

I'm a current patient of Dr. Lervick and have been treating with him since last fall. This is the best care you can find in Minnesota. I'm so grateful to be in Dr. Lervick's care.

I was pleased with my first visit to Dr. Lervick to address rotator issues in both shoulders. He provided an overall perspective of what I was experiencing and proposed some concrete steps and options going forward. He also listened carefully to my own observations and concerns.

Following a fall which reinjured shoulder-Dr. Lervick is thorough, not rushing to surgery if less invasive methods will facilitate healing.

I had been having ongoing shoulder pain and burning for almost a year after defense tactics during school (and a history of hard work and horse accidents). I went to TCO for a 2nd opinion and I was able to get see Dr. Lervick quickly, he ordered another MRI to get a better picture. After meeting with him face to face, he contacted me later in the week to discuss the results of the MRI. He even phoned me after clinic hours due to my crazy EMS schedule and living 3+ hours away. We developed a plan for surgery. The only part I was frustrated with was he originally cancelled surgery 2 days before the set date without contacting me first, (it was another health issue that is a constant for me and have never had an issue with). The issue was resolved, plans went forward for surgery. The morning of he wanted to do a different technique than what we discussed, however I made my intentions clear of what I wanted (due to my career, sport/activities and age 31). He agreed and surgery went well. I

I suffered a serious shoulder injury in a ski accident in Utah and, based on recommendations from medical professionals in my family, returned to MN to have Dr. Lervick handle my care. From my first appointment, I had complete confidence in Dr. Lervick's knowledge and skill and greatly appreciated how clear and thorough he was in explaining my injury and treatment plan (including surgery to repair a displaced fracture and orders for 6 months of physical therapy). Everyone on Dr. Lervick's team was warm, respectful and supportive at every step of my care. The whole team was helpful and efficient in getting me set up for clinic appointments, an MRI, surgery and follow-up appointments, all within a short time-line. I now am just over 2 weeks out from surgery and making good progress in the early stages of PT. I am grateful for the excellent care I have received and I will recommend Dr. Lervick to anyone needing care for a shoulder problem.

Dr. Lervick treated and repaired a torn labrum in my right shoulder. I had been dealing with shoulder instability stemming from baseball for much of my life (I’m 26 now) with no clear direction on how to treat it (surgery, therapy?). Dr. Lervick gave me a very direct diagnosis and gave me the therapy/surgical options, with benefits/drawbacks to each. I was so thankful for the expertise, and he is VERY well versed on shoulders. The surgery went very well and my experience at crosstown surgery center, TCO physical therapy, etc have well exceeded my expectations. He also called me after surgery to go over how the repair went. TCO has a very well integrated total product between diagnosis, surgery, therapy, post ops. I’m still recovering (surgery was March), but so far, so good and I am seeing improvements in motion and comfort compared to pre-surgery. Thank you Dr. Lervick and the rest of the TCO and Crosstown surgery staff!

5 stars! I was advised that I needed surgery by a doctor in Florida. I flew to see Dr. Lervick on my sister's advice. He told me that I was already growing bone and with PT , I would be fine. He was right. He saved me $35,000! Very easy on the eyes too??

Have been with Dr Lervick for about 7 years dealing with shoulder arthritis and subsequent total shoulder replacement. He has always taken the time to listen to my concerns and answer all my questions. I have always felt like I was being heard. At my request, he let me go home the same day of my shoulder replacement (in 2013) and had to write a special protocol for me to do so (this was before it became more common for TSAs to go home same day.) He is my favorite doctor of all time!

I researched Dr. Lervick and knew he was the Dr. I wanted. He took time to explain my condition to me, answered all my questions, showed compassion, explained rotator cuff surgery I needed, performed a tendonectomy, made himself available to me whenever I needed him and called me at home the night of my surgery to make sure I was okay. I wouldn't even consider seeing anyone else for the other shoulder surgery I am likely to need in a few years. ~Jeanie Fredlund

It took over a month to get an appointment. When I finally came in for my appointment I had to wait over an hour past my appointment time to see him. After having imaging done, he said he would be calling with the results. That was a week ago and after two calls to his assistant, Ann I'm still waiting for a phone call. So far I am not impressed.

I had already done physical therapy for months, been to the Mayo and had an injection, & was sure I needed surgery. Dr. Lervick came highly recommended, I made an appointment. I was expecting to have surgery scheduled -instead he assured me that I was a great candidate for some more therapy with an injection in a different area. I was skeptical - but it worked! He hand picked the therapist and in a month my shoulder was nearly 100%. He is the king of shoulders, and worth the wait to get in!
