Lazy and Late
Dr. Lunceford was running late for my appointment and so while I was waiting I completed all of the intake paperwork. I had already been seen by a psychiatrist who left the practice and moved out of state so i was just trying to find someone to continue my care. The diagnosis was generalized anxiety disorder and OCD and I was on a simple dose of my meds. After 45 minutes of waiting he came out to see me and I was visibly annoyed he took me back to his room and went through my paperwork and said based on how fast I filled out the paperwork and how annoyed I was, I must be having a manic episode and am bipolar. I have no symptoms of bipolar disorder comma i do not meet the DSM V criteria, and I have been seeing psychiatrists for 18 years for management of my OCD and anxiety and not one psychiatrist has ever mentioned bipolar. I never went to him again.

THEE WORST! I arrived on time for my appt and waited almost 2hrs before I was seen. The appt was followed by a drug screen that was needed in order to prescribe. I was told the results would be ready in 24/48 hrs. After a week of no follow-up, I contacted the office and was told that the test had just been sent for processing and that it would be another couple of days. I waited almost another week. Again, no follow-up so I called. I was told that the results were still in process. Finally, on 3Aug, I was contacted by Dr. Johnson. Unfortunately, I missed that call but called back. The gentleman who answered the phone said that he would have her call me back. Today is 11Aug and I have yet to receive that call. I called and was told that I would have to schedule another appt if I desired to speak with the Dr. Black men rarely seek mental health asst and for those of us that do, we often do so in a silo or in private. Sadly they clearly had no concern for my mental well-being.

Stay away! Dr Lunceford is always getting my medications mixed up. When I go to the pharmacy to pick up the meds, they are different than what was discussed on the telephone. Since the pandemic started the doctor now does telephone calls, which he is always late too. My last appointment was set for 5pm, and he didn't call me till after 6. He is always quick to get me off the phone. Even worse is the office staff who is constantly confused and do not know how to look at charts properly. They always claim " the doctor never prescribed this med" yet I have been taking the same exact ones, before I even came to the practice. I am highly disappointed at this practice, and hope they can get it together. I thought it was funny that Dr. Lunceford asked me where I got my controlled substances from, yet he is the one who prescribed them. Makes me chuckle every time I think about it.

When I was in the hospital, I waited for days being told everyday he was going to show up for my appointment so I could finally leave. This was at Riverwood behavioral health in Georgia. Some days later, he decided to show and didn't listen to anything I had to say and ask. Not only did they milk my insurance, I'm pretty sure I left with more issues then I had. Don't go to Riverwood and find a psych that cares enough to listen and make a proper diagnosis before throwing medicine at you.

I had an appointment after getting discharged from the hospital (July, 1st 2020) it was on my hospital discharge papers so when I get there they have no idea who I am and what I’m in need for that right there already irritated me, they had to reschedule me. Then I didn’t know you had to see the Dr prior to getting a refill on prescriptions (he prescribed me anti depressants when I was in the hospital) had I known that I would’ve made an appointment prior to running out of my prescription. I thought I did the correct thing by requesting a refill from CVS. Then today (August 3, 2020) they tried to tell me that it was a courtesy appointment they made for me, again, because I was a new patient they called saying they don’t usually see new patients after 4 trying to move me to 3, why would you schedule me at that time if that’s the case? That makes absolutely no sense of that being courteous, just schedule me regularly - I was beyond annoyed by that and I was trying to explain to DANNY wha

Dr Lunceford treats every case as if everyone is dealing with the same situation. He in know way cares about your situation or trying to help. He suggested that I go to a different care facility that turned out he worked for and gets paid $2,500 to refer people to. He would not listen to any of my concerns or my situation. All he wanted was to try and get paid by me twice. It’s a shame we have people like Mr Lunceford in the medical community. I will he reporting him to the BBB for the carefree neglect of his patients concerns and only trying to take more money from them. This company will be hearing from my lawyer if they try to bill me for anything. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT HELP.

Dr. Lunceford is an excellent psychiatrist. Not only is he compassionate, but he has dedicated his life to serving his community on a daily basis. You don't meet too many physicians who are down-to-earth and caring like him. I've known him for 3 years and I would definitely recommend him. Keep up the good work!

Dec 10, 2018... I have been waiting for over a month for them to submit a prior authorization to my insurance company. They are full of excuses and very unprofessional . Keisha is a ghetto front clerk and Carey is full of excuses. I wonder if Dr Lunceford knows he business is ran so unprofessionally.

I recommend Dr. Lunceford even though he doesn't talk with you more than 5 minutes like most psychiatrists. The short interaction with him put me at ease about trying my new meds which are working well. He is very knowledgeable and he makes good, personable eye contact. I have only seen him twice and I am very pleased. I will continue to see him. (I gave most of my information to his students who took good notes for me/him.)

I had made an appointment in the past and arrived only to be told the doctor was not in. Today, I showed up for an appointment and was told he no longer works at that office. To not get a call to let me know he was not there was very unprofessional. He did not seem to listen to my concerns regarding my medication. I would never refer him to anyone.
