Damaged L5 nerve root
Dr. Mundis is great with pre-op information and his team is exceptional. I had every reason to believe that my surgery would be successful. This was a surgery to correct stenosis, spondylosis, and disc degeneration. This was a follow up surgery to scoliosis surgery in 1976. Unfortunately Dr. Mundis damaged the L5 nerve root resulting in lack of mobility, numbness in left leg and foot and weird sensations throughout the body. I was an active woman prior to the surgery and this changed my life balance. Because I work hard at mobility I am better than most would be. These are still men that can make mistakes. I really wanted to give him a great review. I can't with the current circumstances. Surgery was done March 10 2021 and I still have major issues.

Neck Fusion
Dr. Mundis performed my two level neck fusion three months ago and I am happy with the results. I was told I should expect to be out of work for three months but I was able to work remotely five days post surgery. I will admit that the 48 hours after surgery were very painful but Dr. Mundis and his staff did everything they could to make me comfortable.

Can I give this man a thousand stars? I love the review above: “ caring, compassionate, competent and charismatic.” All the c’s- and I would add Christlike. My son woke up in unbearable back pain early Friday morning. That night Dr. Mundis had admitted him to Scripps and was on top of my son’s pain. His four hour surgery went beautifully yesterday afternoon. As we were talking to my son on FaceTime last night at 11:30pm, Dr. Mundis, dressed in scrubs, came in to check on Matt. What a dear man! We couldn’t love Dr. Mundis more.

Dr. Mundis gave me all the information, good or bad, about my surgery I had 10/2020. He answered all my questions and took the time to look into information which he wanted more prior to surgery. He has been helpful during follow-ups and his staff has been tremendous in responding to calls or portal messages.

After bouncing through five or six doctors to find and solve my wife's issues, Dr Mundis was not only refreshing but corrected the problem that others said was going to be a life long problem. I have complete confidence in he and his staff.

Dr. Mundis is the most caring, compassionate, competent and charismatic doctor that I ever had. I was completely at ease as my surgery date approached, I had no anxiety because of the confidence I had in Dr. Mundis and his team. The very successful results of the surgery and my post surgery experiences have fully justified that level of confidence. We have recommended Dr. Mundis to family and friends who are dealing with spinal issues.

Last year I had 3 surgeries for herniated disks. I was very fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Greg Mundis. He did an amazing job with the surgeries. I am fully recovered and back to normal. He is exceptionally gifted at his craft, plus very caring, personable, always looking out for my comfort and followed up throughout my recovery. I highly recommend him to everyone I encounter with back problems. He is incredible. Scripps Clinic and the community is very fortunate.

My mother had ACDF surgery done by Dr Mundis, during the surgery her recurrent laryngeal nerve was damaged causing permanent nerve damage which has forever altered her life and not in a good way. It’s very difficult for her to swallow food and to breathe. Everything she eats has to be soft and puréed or she will choke. Due to the breathing problem that this surgery has caused she can never be put under anesthesia because she will die. The dr is well aware of this and does not reach out or care

Dr. Mundis is seriously an angel. Not only is he an incredible surgeon, but he is an incredible human being. I’ve never received such care and compassion from anyone else in the medical field. He truly cares about his patients and wants to do what’s best for them and he treats his patients like they’re his family. His staff loves and raves about him and yet he is so humble! He performed a spinal fusion on me and he did such an incredible job, I truly believe no one could have done better!

When we were sent to see who we should have for my husband surgery they went on and on about the back ground of this person and that when I just said please we just need the best one. "Well you need Dr. Gregory Mundis." He did the impossible, this young man with a great smile I would trust with my life. If you can get Dr. Mundis for your operation do so.
