Only listens to his self not the patient
My Daughter went to him with a tumor at the base of her Esophagus, She explained to him she was having pain in that area, He called her a liar and told her those do not hurt, He was in such a hurry, he never explained anything to her, His bedside manner was the worst i have ever seen, Most Doctors understand that when you have something in your body that does not suppose to be there it can cause pain, Dr. Olds does not understand anything but what he says. She has now switched Doctors, Going to Erlanger for better care and Doctors that listen to you rather than dictate. My advice if you have a problem and are in pain, do not go to this Doctor because you are not hurting unless he says so.

Dr Olds was attentive, personable and prompt for my upper and lower procedure. The Galen East staff was kind, respectful and honestly I couldn’t ask for better customer service. Surprising , considering it was a medical procedure.

I was told about Dr. Olds from a friend mine who he had save from having a major surgery by removing his polyp with a scope instead of with big operation. My own gastro doc had sent me to surgeon who going to remove a large part of my colon. I saw Dr. Olds in the office and he kindly described the procedure including all of the risks. He answered all mine and my wife's and daughter's questions. He then removed the polyp by a scope with a same day outpatient procedure. Not only that but he found 6 other polyps that my doctor had missed. He is the doctor all the other GI doctors in Chattanooga send the cases they can't do to.

Dr. Olds made the effort to personally call and urge me to realize that I needed to have a Whipple operation now to gain the most benefits. I have great respect for him as a doctor and more importantly as a caring human being. I totally trust his judgement. He is the reason I am alive today. Thanks doctor for caring.

This is a very cold office. They made a referral to a pain management clinic that had a 2.5 hour wait. I asked to be referred to a different clinic and said no. They said it was too hard for them to change the referral. Give me a break. They do not care about their patients. I would suspect a kickback of some sort with the pmc. Why else would they force you to go to one place with so many options. Beware

My issue: life long constipation ( 2-3 weeks between movements ) Mr. Olds prescribed a laxative. Really ---now on day 5 of this (prescribed ) and NO movement. There solution to do a upper GI which is one of the higher risk test that can be done. NoT impressed and absolutely felt Unheard . Getting a second opinion before submitting to a higher risk procedure.
