Dr. Gregory Schnell, MD

After an overnight at NKCH I was fortunate to get an appointment to see Dr. Schnell. I was in tears by the time we met. He listened and read over my records and medical history with me. He gave me renewed confidence that he would be there for me to help PREVENT me from getting a recurrence from the nasty condition that I've had now twice in 3 years. So, he was on board with me to be proactive and I absolutely trust him and his knowledge and recommendations. I cannot say enough about our meeting. Karen, his triage nurse is phenomenal, also.

Theresa saw Dr. Schnell for a Colonoscopy. All went quickly and nicely. Staff was efficient and Kind. Dr. Schnell and the NKC staff were excellent. Dr. Schnell's office arranged for follow-up Cat Scan and Surgery. Very efficient.

I can't imagine what on earth would prompt any one to leave a negative for Drs. Walden and Snell. These are hands down the best gastro doctors in the city. They are beloved - brilliant, compassionate and go out of their way for their patients. My elderly mom was turned away by another gastro doctor (because, he said: "she's Medicare, isn't she? She should go in hospice") and I called Walden/Snell's office in tears - and they got my mom in right away and corrected her simple throat stricture on an emergency surgery appointment. This kind of compassion is what this office is about. I have been with these doctors for ten years now - with GERD and Barretts - and they have made my life better - indeed SAVED my mother's life. I am a real person with a long time relationship with this office - Mary, the nurse, who is the kindest person you will ever meet. I am the pickiest patient in Kansas City and the Walden/Snell office is a central part of my health team.

I saw Dr Schnell on a Tues early PM. He sent me for x-rays & blood work. I called to get my results on Wed & Thurs but had no luck. Fri AM I was taken by ambulance to the ER. I had a severe UTI & my blood sugar was very high. The tests ordered showed high white blood count, but since I wasn't told about it, I wasn't treated. As a diabetic, this could've been life threatening. As it was it was very expensive & painful. It was easily prevented-call your patient when test results indicate a problem

Wildly unprofessional and unorganized front office and nursing staff, in particular Jeremy and Mary. $75 cash rate quoted by Mary at the end of 2018 for 5 minutes of the doctor's time simply to get a new standard 12-month Rx for established patient. (New insurance--not in network). 3 ignored phone follow-ups later to confirm rate after appt was set, Jeremy rudely informs me "no one remembers that", new rate is $250. I opt to cancel the appointment, the response was to be hung up on. Avoid.

Very good bedside manners! Talks to you and ask you if you have any concerns or questions. He offers suggestions to a issue that may Convern what might be bothering you! Excellent
