GO TO A DIFFERENT DR!!!!
Please do not take your kids here!! He has no compassion but even worse he is very quick to do surgery on any kid! His report states my son had a complete ACL tear.... well, something did not sit well with our family especially after seeing 2 other Dr's with the complete opposite opinion. He profits greatly from having his own surgical facility, his own OLD unreliable MRI machine, and provide the rehab at his facility as well! We requested a 2nd MRI from another DR, and it was a new state of the art machine that came back with NO ACL TEAR AT ALL!!!!!!!! We are disgusted that someone is willing to do this to children!!! PLEASE DON'T GO HERE!!!

Dispassionate doctor
I broke my kneecap on October 27th, in Austin, where a doctor placed me in a brace advising me to adjust to 30 degrees after three weeks and to see and doctor closer to home. I chose Dr. Smith based on a recommendation of a friend. I would give more stars to the staff and techs at the clinic, but not for Dr. Smith. He treated me like just some old woman and spoke only in the negatives at my first visit (November 7th). He spent most of his time (after I told him I preferred the 50% non-surgery option), telling me all the things I could not do, ignoring my history, and he never even showed me my x-rays at either visit (the second visit November 28th). Had I taken his advice I would have been in my leg brace in full lock position for 7 weeks longer than I ever needed, including over the holidays. He did not take in consideration any of my abilities or strengths and instead asked me to keep my leg totally rigid except in bed, when seated, or in the shower. I got a second opinion less tha

Referred by my primary care physician for should pain, first visit did not even get to talk to the dr. and he had a employee give me a steroid injection in the shoulder without using ultrasound or any equipment to guide him. I have had a few of these over the years and never had so much pain even a week after the injection. Had to go visit dr smith a week later for the pain and he really did not care. Told my primary not to send patients to him. Now I keep getting a bill that the insurance took care of.

Had surgery with Dr. Smith on November 2, 2018 for a torn meniscus on my knee. I was very happy with the staff from the time I checked in to my departure after surgery. The staff was friendly and the doctor & PA were helpful in explaining everything that was going to transpire during the procedure. The follow up was great I didn’t have to wait long to be seen. Everything went well to my satisfaction.

Find a better Orthopedic. His office and care is unacceptable not to mention they cancelled my surgery unless i gave them $1000 upfront. I asked for payment plan and was told no. Heather is an unfriendly and incompetent assistant. DR Smith is aware of his staff problem but refuses to change it. So don't expect any professional health care. By the way my surgery did no good. Its actually more painful sometimes. Thanks to Dr Smith

My son and I were treated at Dr. Smith's office. My son was directly treated by Dr. Smith for six weeks and everything turned out good. I saw his assistant and was treated really well also. From what I saw, his staff was very courteous at the Harlingen office. As a matter of fact, I was there the day a patient was being unprofessional and the clerk responded in a professional manner. I recommend Dr. Smith.

Dr Smith himself is a good man and pretty good doctor, but having to deal with rude staff and unconcerned manager is another issue. I have never been attended so rudely and without compassion in any other facility. Due to his staff, I will no longer be going to see him. Is the doctor aware... probably... probably not. Either way, I do not think anyone deserves that kind of treatment from staff. He needs a manager that cares to better his staff in providing quality customer service
