Dr. Gretchen Gerace, MD

I had been going to a wonderful gynecologist for aver 25 years who retired. Set up an appointment with Dr. Gerace for my annual checkup. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. She was rude, condescending and unprofessional. The exam was rushed and painful, not what you need when having such an intimate exam. I would never go back to Dr. Gerace or recommend her to anyone.

I went to Dr. Gerace when my OBGYN retired. My old OBGYN was excellent; she left no leaf unturned in my annual checkup. I can’t say the same for Gerace. I have some pretty serious complications that I told her about. She didn’t feel or look around during the exam or ask many questions, it was just like she was checking a box. After some test results came back, she wanted me to come back in for a 10-15 minute procedure that UH charges $14,000 for! Of which I would have been responsible to pay $5,250. (It wasn’t easy getting this quote either btw, because no one ever knows the CPT codes and they bounce you around from the doctor’s office to various billing departments..) I called a private practice OBGYN, and they said they charge $150-300 for the same exact procedure! Cleveland hospital systems, especially CCF and UH, are a total money scam. I’ll be finding a private OBGYN for all future care.

Good for general gynecology and with an office of other doctors who have more specific specialities, if she can’t help you she can point you to another doctor who can.

If you are simply looking for a gynecologist, have no intention on becoming pregnant, and have no complications she's fine. However, I did become pregnant, and her schedule was full, it took her weeks to review and act on blood work/ labs, and she spent very little if any time being personable and getting to know my specific needs.
