Truly Great Overall
After several appointments and tests, I am so grateful to have accidentally discovered Dr. Leon after having been referred to another doctor in the office. First, I found the office environment/staff to be friendly, accommodating, and professional. As with other reviewers, my only comment is that wait times are often considerable, but not to the point of being egregious. Finding excellent providers in Las Cruces can be a formidable task given the acknowledged lack of providers. As for the medical aspects of my visits, I found Dr. Leon to be comprehensive, understandable, and communicative. He is certainly not one to recommend procedures when the need for these is not present. One aspect of my care that really impressed me was the way in which he dictated, in my presence, immediate and succinct letters to my Primary Care regarding the results of my tests. Hearing his findings in that fashion just reinforced my understanding of them. As I said, a truly great experience.

Admitted to hospital with tachycardia, which didn't clear up with early attempts to fix. Enter Dr. Leon, who got me on proper meds and also did a non-invasive electical reset to my heart which was effective. Discussed and explained treatment options very well, found a solution for an expensive med my insurance didn't cover. My only criticism is an ungodly wait at my follow-up appt., Staff explained interruptions from Hospital phone calls.

Dr. Leon saved my life. After suffering several heart attacks and two Code Blues, I was stabled. He has been treating me for CHF, bp and PAD. He's a great doctor. His wait time in the office is difficult, but I feel he knows what he's doing and has my best interests in mind.

This man SAVED MY LIFE! I know, I know, going down the Health Care rabbit-hole in southern New Mexico can be daunting. Still, if you stumble upon excellence by chance, it deserves recognition.

I was taken in to Memorial hospital on 11 Dec 2019 suffering from a heart attack which I found later it had been so bad I was very lucky I was alive. Dr. Leon was called in and he called his crew in to the hospital late at night and he got his crew going fast and took very good care of me and SAVED my Life. After that I saw him at his office for a follow up, AGAIN he and his office crew were so very professional and Dr. Leon saw my other three arteries were 80% blocked he right away scheduled me at Memorial and Again he and his professional crew got right in there and took really good care of me. Dr. Leon and his office assistant Lisa were very through in medication and prescriptions and supplying, helpful literature and instructions for me to follow in my recovery. I would definitely recommend Dr. Leon to anybody needing Heart treatment of any kind.

His staff was very rude and very rough with my father. He went in to potentially have a stent put in his heart. Dr. Leon decided he needed one and proceeded with it. However, when he was finished he never spoke with my father after wards. My father was in terrible pain and told his staff multiple times only to be told he would have to "deal with it for now". It wasn't until I personally called the hospital to find out what was going on that they went ahead and gave him the medication that he nee

My husband was a patient of Dr. Leon for over 14yrs. We never had a problem not once. In fact, he has performed 2 flawless pace-maker replacements on my husband who has very specified issues. We moved to Albuquerque last year and have yet to find a cardiologist of this caliber...so! May try to make moves to see if Dr. Leon will do my husband's 2019 replacement. This is my hope. I'd recommend Dr. Leon AND staff every day of the week! Very well-trained professional and friendly, caring staff! :)

My Father In Law was recently at MMC Hospital and He passed out in front of Dr Leon. Dr Leon took control of the situation and was able to determine why he was having those episodes. His BP medication was to blame to many pills for the same thing. Finally someone who understood my Question "Why is he on so many meds, all for the same thing". Thank You Dr Leon
