Awful Bedside Manner
I believe Dr. Bhasin is a deeply overworked and detached provider. I had a total of two appointments with her (first to establish care and a second to complete my overseas screening for a military assignment for my spouse who is stationed overseas). Dr. Bhasin was not friendly at the first appointment, curt, and dismissive when speaking about my medication. I decided that maybe she was having a bad day and it wasn't an issue. On my second visit she was accusatory of the paperwork she had to sign off on and even questioned the nationality of my spouse's military affiliation. It was bizarre. And then I have the misforturne of a very awkward pap smear. Horrible. I'm sure somewhere along the line Dr. Bhasin just became overwhelmed and exhausted. But this should not impact your level of care in such a consistent way. Please reconsider your approach to patients, Dr. Bhasin. You may be inflicting trauma unwittingly.

Dr. Bhasin is incredible. I’m so grateful to have her take great care of my health. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, and lovely to speak with at every appointment. She takes time to go over test results, diagnosis, and treatment options. I trust her medical advice. It’s rare to find a doctor who combines such personal touches. Also, the staff at Lakeside is friendly and professional. I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes when I arrive on time for an appointment. I highly recommend becoming Dr. Bhasin’s patient.

If you want a Dr. who cares about you as a patient, go elsewhere. I've never had a worse experience in my life. First, Dr. Bhasin sent me for labs that explicitly contradict CDC guidance because of the test's low predictive value. When I got my positive result from Quest, I panicked and went down an internet rabbit hole. Only 4 days later did I get a call from Dr. Bhasin's office. When I spoke with Dr. Bhasin again, I expressed my frustration that I'd been sent for this test against CDC guidance and left to process my results on my own for 4 days. I was just trying to protect future patients from going through what I did. She didn't even respond to the fact that the test shouldn't have been ordered in the first place, all she did was defend herself by saying that they need 3-5 business days to review labs. She couldn't even muster an apology to say she was sorry about my experience, even if she wouldn't admit her mistake. I'd expect more sympathy from a random person on the street.
