Saw him twice and both times waited an hour in the exam room to see him. He didn't do a good job explaining the torn meniscus in my knee. I told him both knees hurt and swell but he only ordered mri for one knee. He seemed preoccupied and acted like he would rather be somewhere else. He interrupted me when I was trying to explain my knee problems and didn't seem interested at all. Very smug. I won't return to him for my check up. I'll see someone else.

1st appointment he was over 1 hr late to see me, barely assessed me. Had surgery barely 1 yr ago on prob knee & knew my issue, wanted a steroid shot. He ordered an MRI. 2nd appt, barely explained MRI result. Didn't show me findings. Said it was medial meniscus tear and recommended scope surgery. My medial meniscus was ALREADY removed. MRI was to look at possibility of LATERAL tear. Symptoms are LATERAL. I questioned this and he fumbled his explanation. Getting referral out.

I had a referral to Dr. Schmidt for a knee pain. I had X-rays and MRI done before the appointment , but when I first seen him, it was like he hadn't seen any of my records. He seemed very busy and My problems were unimportant. I have left 2 messages with an answering machine at his office and have not heard back from anyone. Knee is still painful after a cortisone shot, (3 days later) going into the weekend. Going to get a 2nd opinion from a different office.
