I am leaving 2 stars because dr Demeo is a really great doctor but his receptionists are unprofessional, unorganized and rude. I recommend this doctor to everyone but do not expect to be greeted at your appointment with smiles or friendliness. Speaking to Jennifer on the phone is always a horrible experience. Trying to get something done with her was like trying to walk to the moon. When you get there for your appointment the girls aren't friendly they talk about their personal lives and patients while you sit 3 feet away from them forced to listen. I wish he had better staff because its very unpleasant.

Dr DiMeo is professional and thorough. His manner is reassuring and backed by the information he provides and procedures that he has performed on me more than once for almost two decades. His diligence also alerted me to potentially life threatening medical problems outside his area of expertise. His attention to patient issues has been evidenced by follow up from his office staff which in my experience reflects his values. I am grateful for his contribution to my improved health.

The staff is absolutely horrendous. Major attitudes and Not helpful at all. The medication that i was taking for years was recalled and I needed a new prescription. Well the staff was less than thrilled when I was trying to explain the situation to them. In Fact it took a couple of days to even get the new prescription called into the pharmacy. after starting the new med I wanted to speak to dr. DeMeo because the new medication that he prescribed wasn’t helping and over the weekend I was in horrible pain. Well that didn’t go over well with the receptionist Jennifer who couldn’t wait to tell me that I had to come in because I hadn’t been there in awhile. Fine, I get that and have no problem setting up an appointment but what’s the problem with having a doctor or PA calling a patient back to see what the problem is? In fact Jennifer called me back and couldn’t wait to tell me that Dr. DeMeo said that if I was in that much pain I should go to the ER or wait till my appointment date. So

My initial consult was with his Phys. Asst. Elizabeth DiRienza, who had sharp bony chicken fingers for my surprise digital rectal exam. My pharmacy had to record of her for the prep Rx. On scope date I told DeMeo NOT to put me fully under. He did anyway. I was furious! Results came in and he insisted I didn't prep right after I followed every direction. To boot, I am permitted an annual cancer screening / colonoscopy as no charge, but he squeezed a $100.00 copay out of me. Nasty Dr. & staff.

Dr. DeMeo initially appeared helpful and dedicated for the 1st 2 visits. On the 3rd visit he spent 10 min. and was in a rush to leave without getting the Xifaxin ordered properly. After the treatment for the SIBO worsened my IBS causing second degree internal hemorroids, I needed to see a colorectal surgeon and have procedures . One of Dr. DeMeo's nurses and a secretary treated me badly. Dr. DeMeo told me that (despite being a GI dr.) he can't help me with my constipation! Undedicated dr.

Dr. DeMeo is great. However, he is Star Player on a bad team. His staff are horrible, and it is evident as soon as you enter the office. The Nursing assistants are nasty, and give you the feeling you are at the DMV opposed to being in a Doctor's office. From what I witnessed they are equal opportunity, they treat everyone equally horrible. Great Player, horrible supporting cast.
