He removed my husbands brain tumor , last April 29th 2022 i believe my husband had and still has a better chance of living longer because of Dr. Van Loveren. Dr is a very caring and kind heart . i wanted to call him many times and tell him how my Dr Dave is doing. Dave tells everyone that he had the best surgeon to remove the cancerous tumor . Saved my life
His compassion, understanding of two former brain surgery and cranioplasty gone wrong, his ability to pinpoint the source of my problems, he was simply outstanding. He saved my life doing another cranioplasty with removal of the infected, rotten bone flap. His actions saved me from Meningitis going rampant in my head, he also prevented it mowing into my spine. Hands down the most gifted professional who not only took care of me medically, but he gave me hope after I was thinking hospice is the last change for me. Thank you for your outstanding help, I will be forever in your dept.

Never had a tumor
I just would like to know why? Why did you do it Dr. VanLovern? I struggle with it everyday, as you are worry free. The painful reminders. The forever scars. Physical and emotional. What was it? Insurance? My life is ruined because of the misery I was put through. I cannot see, or believe another doctor again. So, I am aware that will eventually catch up with me, but before thst. I would like to know...WHY?

I've got schwannomatosis and have been dealing with pain and different doctors my entire life. I can tell you Dr VanLoveren is one of a kind. His caring nature and the time he spends with his patients is so comforting. You feel very calm around him because of the confidence in his words and his relaxed nature. I can't believe any claims saying he wouldnt return peoples calls or blow them off. He may be very busy but he's always gotten back to me.

Dr. Van Loveren did surgery on me in January of 1998, the problem being a jugular foramen schwannoma. I still have balance issues but lead a pretty normal life, thanks to the ability and care of Dr. Van Loveren. I might add he was assisted by a Dr. Myles Pensak, an otologist/neurotologist, associated with University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Oh, I am now 85 years old and still active and enjoying myself. Thanks to these great Doctors...

We went his USF health office recommended by our primary care doctor with suspicion of Brain Aneurysm after we seen his name in cleveland clinic, etc we were very excited to meet this famuous doctor. We were in same office couple weeks before seen one of his associates Waldo Guerrero and he didnt even look at the mri images send read the mri report and told us my wife has aneurysm. Guess what, Doctor was not too far from his rookie associate Waldo. He looked at the report and look at images couple minutes and told us she has aneursym. I said, doctor it is in internet MRI only 70% accurate. He mentioned most complicated test option but didnt mention CT Scan option. He said he will have his team review the images and get back to me..it is 6 months..still waiting for him to contact me..I actually dont want that. i found less popular, more focused neurosurgeons here in tampa area, more look at you as human then your insurance limits. Tampa General & USF Health loves their $ surgeries!

2 months after brain surgery my wife continues to improve. She had MVD surgery in May of 2016 that left her vomiting over 20 times a day every day for over 850 days. took 2 years to get her first brain surgeon to release a video of the procedure that showed he damaged her vestibular nerve that was causing her vomiting. I cant begin to tell you the living HELL my wife had to endure for over 2 years. Thank you Dr. V for giving her life back (Google woman vomiting for 800 days ) see our story

Recently I looked for the best Neuro surgeon in the country to diagnose and treat a very rare glioblastoma on the pineal gland. I researched everyone from the top cancer centers and decided on Dr. V. Besides being an exceptional surgeon and excellent listener he took time to clearly and honestly explain the risks and benefits of surgery and treatment to my anxious family. The tricky biopsy and procedure was performed without complications and he remains a trusted friend. He is a rare doctor.

Absolutely the best there is. Kind, compassionate, as well as the best surgeon there is. Dr.Van Loveren, along with his fellow Dr. Jayson Sack, removed a large brain tumor on my left cerebellum 6/05/17. Not one problem. Dr. Van Loveren, as well as Dr. Sack , are both amazing.

I was told my cavernous sinus meningioma shouldn't be touched. I elected to get another opinion and found this most gentle and brilliant surgeon. He gave me options. After a few years, we had pretty much decided that the surgery was necessary because of severely worsening symptoms. So gentle and empethetic. I felt totally comfortable in his care and will trust his guidance for years to come.

Dr. Van Loveren is in a class by himself. He exceptional skills, experience and caring for patients are evident in everything he does. And he just does not miss a beat. He is attentive, conscientious, respectful and rigorous. His clinical knowledge is remarkable. While he is a neurosurgeon, he does not take his knife to all matters, and is most concerned about what is best for the patient.

Dr. Van Loveren is an incredible surgeon. He has impeccable bedside manor. He is kind, gentle, trustworthy and compassionate and I can tell he genuinely cares for me as a patient. He saved my life as well as my vision. He removed a large pituitary macroadenoma that was causing me to lose my vision and today, a year later, my vision has been restored and the MRIs show no trace of the tumor.I would recommend Dr. Van Loveren 150%.

Dr. VanLoveren, whom I had never met before, gave me detailed information about my acoustic neuroma, treatment options, and follow up. I opted for surgery and was told the expected outcome, comlications, etc. He and the other doctors and nurses that I saw were thorough and I did not feel rushed. All INCLUDING the non medical staff were competent, professional and 'went the extra mile'. Jack L. Tampa

His secretary will never give me an appointment with him. He's a nice guy, but I'm not sure such a good doctor. I'm always being scheduled with one of his assistants who isn't knowledgeable of my condition. If he turfs you off to a lesser doctor, beware. VanLoveren promised me to look into a procedure that could give me relief, then dodged my calls & emails for months til he finally said he didnf want to do it. He also left me with a broken shunt he installed.
