Dr. Heather Bourkovski, DO

Dr. B is professional and honest. She has walked my husband and I through many IUI procedures. She was very caring and compassionate when we miscarried. Although the wait time is long sometimes, I don' mind because I know Dr. B is going to give me the best she has when I see her.

Dr B got me through two high risk pregnancies. She kept me safe and she kept my babies safe. She is experienced, professional, compassionate and her bedside manner is amazing. It’s no accident that she is considered one of the best loved and most trusted OB-GYNs in the area.

My wife had the miss fortune of going to this person based on a recommendation. She was, as we see now, clearly showing many signs and symptoms of cancer but Bourkovski wasted months on treating a minor yeast infection as well as giving her a medication we find out can actually make the cancer worse! Even when Bourkovski was shown blood in the discharge, which she realized was bad, she was still in a stupor ordering an ultrasound rather than a full biopsy! A fibroid caught her attention but a real doctor pointed out that would not be causing the issues. Bourkovski was going to wait an additional two months to examine further! Luckily there is a competent doctor in the office, Lori Whitman, who got right on it and finally the cancer was, hopefully, removed. However because of the incompetence of Bourkovski many months were wasted and now we are at the Mayo Clinic for radiation treatment. A less negligent "doctor" could have prevented this.

I won’t be going back to Dr Bourkovski’s office, the wait times are long even despite me calling ahead to check on that, but thats the least of the issues. She was very rough during my exam, as someone who has experienced breast cancer i really didnt appreciate her style. Then i had to return for a biopsy, it was a traumatic experience because the numbing agent didnt work. She proceeded to try again a few times before it was sufficiently numbed. I was shaking when i left her office. The rest of that next week was spent playing phone tag until the following week when her nurse told me something neither of us fully understood and she told me she would have the doc call me. I still don’t understand my biopsy results, but they called in an rx for me, and they also never called in the other rx i needed from more than 2 weeks ago. Pardon my frustration, but she probably should stop taking new patients so that she has time for the ones she has left hanging.

I love Dr. B. Her fast acting saved my son's life, or at least some of his brain cells. I want to get pregnant and have another baby just so she can by my Dr. and take care of me again. JK, but really she is just incredible.

It was pretty clear that Dr b is more interested in seeing as many patients as possible than giving them quality care. She didn't take my concerns seriously, often shrugging them off patronizingly, to the extent that I wouldn't have made it to the hospital on time had I not pressed her when I called to see if I needed to head in.
