Dr. Heather Hughes, MD

Dr. Hughes was friendly and helpful in my first appointment. I really liked her. But when I to get bloodwork, she or staff hadn't put in the 3 insurance codes, and I would have to pay it all. Lab and I called and left messages. Staff had added 1 code, but still missed 1 that I had to pay for. 3 weeks later nurse called to adjust my thyroid, said to redo lab in 8 weeks and orders would be at the lab. I work 2 jobs 50 miles away in San Diego, couldn't get to the lab till I had a vacation in 10 weeks, ran out of thyroid, so I requested a small refill to get me through. Heidi yelled at me for asking for a refill, said I had plenty of thyroid, wouldn't listen to any explanation, told me that maybe I should find a new doctor! 3 days later, I went to get labs, but no orders were there! They said no orders had come in from Dr. Hughes in the last 10 weeks at all. So now I have no thyroid, no trust in this doctor or her staff, and have to figure out what to do next. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a Dr that listens to you, explains stuff to and takes the time to understand your concerns.

Dr. Hughes is attentative and listens to the patient. She always manages to put me at ease and address any concerns I may have. Her support staff is equally empathic. I have been a patient for a number of years and could not even think of changing to a different doctor.
