Dr. Helen Ostro-Brown, MD

I made an appt for an annual physical with Dr Ostro Brown. When I got to the appt she asked why I was there and when I told her an annual physical she said “oh no, no, no, no, no” we have to establish care first. I was dumbfounded as the receptionist did not tell me that I first needed an establish care appt. She asked me about my family history and then kept asking me about my gynecological needs and when I told her that I already see a gynecologist he seemed upset. She then didn’t have anything else to say and told me I could schedule an annual physical appt and I could leave the room. The whole appt took 10 mins and I had had to find a babysitter. I won’t be going back for the annual physical appt. She was very condescending and rude during our interaction.

I do not recommend Dr. Ostro-Brown. She started my appointment with an attitude and came across very elitist. She does not take the time to get to know you what so ever - I felt as if I was inconveniencing her by seeing her for an appointment. I was also lectured to and talked down to about my health. My advice - seek care from someone else.

I found Dr O-Brown after moving from out of state and during Covid I wasn’t impressed with the office and how it was run but when I talked to the Dr, she said they had just been bought out. I should have found another Dr office then but I stuck it out thru Covid. Office improved slightly with fresh paint and some new staff. I Had repeated issues with her inability to prescribe meds correctly. The pharmacy she recommended had quite a time trying to figure out her scripts. Be Leary of that office and Dr.

Unprofessional staff and kept trying to get me to come into the office for simple prescription refills.....extremely frustrating and seemed like they were just trying to make money.

Dr. Ostro-Brown is knowledgeable, thorough and pleasant. She is the only doctor I’ve ever had who really listens to what you have to say. I have been going to her for about five years now and she is the best I have ever had. I would definitely recommend her to others.

Dr. Ostro-Brown is very thorough and knowledgeable. But I'll stop there. Her interaction with patients and families is horrible. She is always rushed, insulting, sarcastic, and condescending. She gets flustered in her too-short appt. times and snaps at patients if they ask questions. The office has been in a state of remodeling for at least a year, with not much improvement, and everything unfinished. It looks like an office from the 1950's or '60s, but not in a good way. It's completely outdated. The practice is very behind on technology, even down to the phone lines not taking prescription refill requests when the office is closed, for example. If you're looking for a thorough doctor who makes you wish you'd stayed home sick, then Helen is your gal.

They have canceled my appointments without telling me for no reason, set up appointments and canceled while I was waiting in the waiting room. I’ve never seen a more chaotic and poorly run practice. Please avoid.

Dr OstroBrown is a very caring and thorough physician. I’ve been her patient for over a decade. Whenever I have a symptom that requires a specialist, her referrals are spot on. I highly recommend her.

I was going to her for 15 years. But I was always healthy and had no complicated to diagnose or refer to specialists symptoms. But after last two months of going to her with the same issue and still in pain that is not explained by neurologist or rehabilitation center I went to I wanted to know what specialist to go to ( I actually went to neurologist on my own) .At the follow up appointments ( two in a row ) Dr.Ostro-Brown did not want to hear about my pains and just wanted to address my high blood pressure. I asked her to please look at my symptoms. I suggested that maybe it is arthritis? She flipped on me in such a rude way... I am not sure why this made her so upset. She said she is done and she actually rolled out of the room. Before she did she said “iIt is a free country and I can go to Arthritis Specialist if is want to ! “ She said” I am done. You come here with all those issues ....” She also said: “You can find other doctor , we do do not mutual understanding “ ... I was

I'm husband of Patient to Dr. Brown. My wife's been having an issue with her arm since December (1st visit with Dr. Brown). As of today, she still has unexplainable pains and only for a month or so also issue with blood pressure. ...so my wife asked if maybe it could be arthritis instead of neurological issues...Doctor told my wife in rude manner that It's a free country, she can go wherever she wants, this is the United States of America and she's free to go anywhere. This started a very un-easy moment where the doctor argued and wanted to just walk away from the visit without listening to my wife's symptoms. My wife came back home crying...the front desk witnessed her crying. Amazing that a professional of general practice would behave in such a manner...My family has been going to this office for more than 15 years!!!...I guess it's good we've been healthy without real issues for her office to address...true colors show when real issues arise. :(

Very long wait times - hard to get appointments - always get put on hold when you call the office. She is a good doctor - just completely overbooked.

Dr. Ostro- Brown is a very attentive person. Easy to talk to and very thorough.

Worst experience I've ever had with a doctor in my entire life! Dr Helen Astro Brown has ZERO bedside manner I don't know why she is practicing medicine. After waiting almost an hour after my appt time she came into the room very rude and unempathetic. Maybe she had a bad day? I don't know i will never ever ever EVER go back to this place

Dr. Helen Ostro-Brown correctly diagnosed an emergent medical condition with a physical exam and ordered the proper testing to confirm. I was scheduled for surgery a week later. Thanks to her, my problem was resolved without complications.

Dr. Ostro-Brown is very easy to speak with regarding health issues. She seems straight forward without all the confusing medical jargon. She is prompt and responsive to email questions etc.
