Weird Experience
He doesn’t listen. He was condescending. I asked for allergy testing 4 times. He kept telling me I didn’t have allergies. Why would I be at an allergist then? Each appointment he told me this then was surprised when I told him I had allergies and explained how to take allergy meds. I know, and they’re not controlling them. That’s why I found an allergist. All 4 times this happened! He got a model and explained in detail about nasal cavities. Ok? Then said some people think they have allergies but really it is just irritation to smells and chemicals. Ok? I said my allergies bother my eyes. He said lots of people really just have dry eyes. Ok? Maybe that would have made sense if he had done testing and it was negative, but?? Have had allergy testing since and I’m allergic to quite a bit. But, hey, I got my money’s worth, I got an anatomy lesson and learned some people have irritation to smells and dry eyes. I’d suggest a different doc or an anatomy class. The class would be cheaper.

Great and wonderful doctor
Great doctor. Been a patient of his for a long time. Very friendly and knowledgeable. My dad went in with me in the room and he suggested this medication and my dad was cured. Very easy to talk too. He even knew about my eczema. I did allergy shots for 5 years under him. I knew it was risky but in the long run helped me out.

Changed my life
I appreciate doctor Kanarek SO much. I don’t live in the area but he took a phone call from my regular allergist to help her figure out my diagnosis. I was so impressed at how responsive he was and the care and information he shared. He always takes the time with me that I need and goes above and beyond!! He answers my calls and messages promptly. I’ve never had a doctor who shows so much care! I have tears in my eyes even thinking back on it. I’ve been his patient for a year now and he has my condition under control. Knowledge is power and he definitely shares it. I’m happy to make the 4 he drive to see him and his friendly office staff. Such a wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable clinic!! If he is rushed it is because he has taken the time to care for someone else who is in dire need without making you feel like a burden. Only once has he been rushed with me but everyone deserves to have a “bad day”. One bad experience doesn’t take away from all the amazing times he has done his best

First time I went to see him he diagnosed me with an immune an allergy issue. Gave me tons of samples and started allergy shots which I had anaphylactic reactions to. I stopped the shots and tried alternative treatment modifying my diet for a few years with tremendous success. Returned when I moved back to the area for allergy eye symptoms. He misdiagnosed without even listening to my symptoms dry eye and gave me the wrong medication. He also made fun of my weight and he and his nurse stood right outside my open door in the exam room trying to guess how much I weighed. He wanted to give me an allergy test and I told him I took medication that was an antihistamine so it would impact the test. I refused the allergy test. Told him no. He did one anyway telling me I was being a toddler. I left immediate after and have never been so rudely treated in my life by a doctor or nurse. Horrible man!!

He’s ok! I went in for a rash that looked like hives, I explained my history and provided him with all the information that I could. Now my issue is, he only observed the rash that he could see, assuming it all was the same. However, that wasn’t the case and he gave me a diagnosis without examining all areas based on his assumption. When he was getting ready to leave the room I made a statement about how the rash is different in another areas and bam it was a possibility of a dual diagnosis.

My first visit was great. He was able to diagnose and treat an immune system problem I'd been having for years. At my most recent visit, he was rushed and would not listen to me. He gave me tons of different pharmaceutical samples to try, and showed no concern for my unrelated symptoms. Made no effort whatsoever.

Dr. Kanarek is a life saver! I spent 2+ years visiting many doctors trying to figure out and find relief for severe itching, redness and cracking! I was beyond miserable! All the other doctors were treating me with topical creams, salves etc. He knew immediately it was internal and caused from inflammation! He prescribed meds and within 2 weeks I felt like a new person! He is knowledgeable, caring and compassionate! I will be forever grateful for his expertise and his genuine concern!

Dr. Kanarek ended my years living with a misdiagnosed and untreated immune deficiency. Life returned to normal under his care. He saw me without a referral and always can see me on a week's notice. He diagnosed me, but he is also handling my continuing care. I drive 3 hours to see him and will continue to do so, even though there's doctor's in my area who can treat my condition. After so many years of wrong answers, he's the one I can trust.
