Dr. Henry Souto, DO

I'm embarrassed to admit that this review comes 10 years too late. Long story short, we were vacationing in NJ when my 9 year old daughter became ill. We took her to UrgentCare and they found some concerning EKG results and recommended we send her to Shore Memorial Hospital. That's where we met Dr. Souto. My daughter and I were scared and he was very calm and reassuring. He quickly found that she had the flu and put out minds at ease. He is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. I have been wanting to thank Dr. Souto for 10 years now and have only now found the time to do so. I'm so sorry for the delay. I have no excuse. He deserves the thanks and recognition that I am now finally giving him. So, thank you Dr. Souto for being so wonderful, not only to your patients but to their families as well. You're a gem!

I went in to the ER in excruciating pain, thinking it was a UTI that I was having on and off for about 3 months. It didn’t seem busy at all but for some reason it took 4 hours all over a UTI test and a quick cat scan. I asked if I could have anything for the pain/being very uncomfortable. After waiting what felt like forever he came back and threw papers at me saying there’s nothing wrong with me. Fast forward 3 days and still in a ton of pain so I went to my primary care doctor. He looked at my blood results and did his own testing and said it was a severe UTI and it could be the reason my kidneys were hurting me. It said it right on the paper of my blood work that I did indeed have some sort of bladder infection because of the nitrates in my system. He acted like I was just there to get pain meds or something when I was truly in pain. Most men don’t know the feeling of a UTI but it’s NOT fun. I do hope he gets to experience what I did one day and go for help but get turned away.

Very caring, very thorough. During these times I thank this doctor. Just a caring loving understanding person. I was taken care of so well. Took his time with me. Did all kinds of test and blood work. I wish he was my regular doctor. If I could give 10 stars I would.

I met with Dr Souto one day and the following week I had a surgery scheduled for smart lipo. He is extremely professional and taught/showed me exactly what was going to happen. He made me feel comfortable on the table. His nurse Cindy was my angel for the few hours I was there. She helped me with everything I needed... meds’ clothing etc. Highly recommended office and look forward to working with them in the future.

COMPLETELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I went to the ER after I couldn't get an appointment with my GP. He took one look at me- took off my face mask (which the ER asks you to wear if you're coughing) and said "you don't need this"... then he gave a diagnosis (did absolutely nothing else mind you) and said "I'm not sure why you're here" then prescribed some things and walked away. I was out of the ER within 30 minutes without any paperwork or explanations but certainly with tears.

I had to go to the ER I was there for five hours under this Dr Souto care you didn't miss anything for sure. Bedside matter was excellent test were explain didn't rush me out.
