On 09/29/23, I had an appointment with Dr. Kanter for the removal of my four wisdom teeth. I am, suffice it to say, disappointed with the outcome, and was made to feel objectified while under his care. While I understand that medical procedures can sometimes be unpredictable, my experience left me with several concerns.During my appointment, Dr. Kanter, allegedly, encountered difficulty in finding a vein for the administration of anesthesia. He poked me several times in each arm, 4-5 in total, without success. I have a fear of needles, and was very lightheaded, near fainting, after these attempts. Dr. Kanter then asked if he could remove my wisdom teeth using only local anesthetic. I said yes, and received 4 painful novocaine shots to my lower jaw only. When he began, I could feel what he was doing. I made noise, and was visibly crying, but couldn’t speak due to the numbing of my lower jaw. Due to the pain and trauma of the experience, Dr. Kanter only removed one of my wisdom teeth

I went in for a tooth extraction and ended up getting a fractured jaw. Dr Kanter wired my jaw shut the first time did it wrong. After 5 1/2 weeks I ended up with a worse fracture. I do not recommend using this doctor. He doesn’t listen to you when you tell him things are worse.

I had 2 wisdom teeth removed and one was impacted (lower) and the other was a straight pull. Dr. Kanter discussed my options about pain relief during the procedure without any bias. It was completely up to me and I chose general anesthesia. I was able to pick up the antibiotics and Vidicon well ahead of time because he called these in on the day I had my consultation. I am VERY happy with Dr. Kanter's beside manner and his personal follow-up. I received a phone call at 8:30pm that same day!!

Tooth extraction is not something we look forward to but Dr. Kanter made me feel comfortable right away. My tooth extraction lasted about a minute and I did not feel any pain at all, during or at any time after the surgery. Dr. Kanter even called me later that evening to check on how I was feeling. Excellent experience overall!

Dr Kanter was attentive during all appointments, extracted my wisdom teeth without additional intervention such as incisions and stitches, and my recovery was quick and virtually painless. He followed up personally with me in the evening after my surgery, and called me when I had a question later that week. I will definitely recommend to anyone. Keep in mind that appointments may take several days, but to me that is a sign that he is a well-sought after doctor.
