Doesn’t fulfill basic job responsibilities
This woman admits to not reading the charts of new patients despite having months to prepare for them. After telling me she didn’t bother to review my chart because it was “long,” she asked me if I’d considered the possibility that my health problems are all in my head. I was rated with 100% disability by the state of California, a notoriously difficult feat requiring many years of compelling medical documentation, on my first try due to a lifelong genetic condition. Since then, I’ve also had a complicated surgery that she didn’t even seem to know about before I mentioned it during my appointment. It was the main reason I told the UW I was seeking care, and has been documented extensively, and had occurred less than a year prior to my appointment with Iskin … The only data point she used to assess my situation was her premature judgement of my character. No science, no history, no medicine, and she was abjectly wrong, and she hurt me for no reason.

A thorough, attentive doctor
I normally don't write reviews but am doing so now because I disagree with "Overestimates her abilities." I had a one-hour first appointment to establish care with Dr. Iskin. She was attentive, asked good questions, and gave me all the time I needed. She didn't say a word about her qualifications or affiliations. I especially liked that she started off the appointment with "tell me about yourself." For that and other reasons I felt treated like a person, not just a patient reduced to my medical problems. I'm about to return to Dr. Iskin for another appointment.

Overestimates her abilities
Arrogant and unfriendly. Asks leading and manipulative questions, and is unimaginative and incredulous in her approach. I switched to another doctor who didn’t spend the first 10 minutes of my appointment bragging about their eminence at the local hospital like Ms. Iskin did. (She also dismissed my serious and documented medical concerns 6 months after a failed orthopedic surgery at another hospital, referring to her medical “expertise” as a resident - buyer beware.) There are much kinder, humbler, more competent providers at the UW Belltown clinic.
