Dr. Himali Jayakody, MD

Dr. Jayakody is kind, compassionate, educational and empathy, she is the only neurologist that was able to help with my baby's epilepsy, I've been to lots of neurologist to no avail.

Does not listen and makes diagnosis according to her opinion and not fact. My grandson has speech apraxia. Pediatrician feels he may be having seizures too so she sent him to her suggesting MRI and further work up. We tried to tell this “Dr” about my grandson and his eating habits and his history but she would rather judge him based on the fact that he is on state aid. She says oh a speech therapist and his pediatrician diagnosed him?! Like that’s not a real thing. And just ordered a random test that won’t show anything because that’s what will clear him off her list and says it’s just behavioral. Sorry honey but he’s 9 and hasn’t spoken in clear language his entire life. And now he has seizure like activity and she says it’s behavioral. Unbelievable. FYI this grandma that’s speaking out is a 28 year nursing veteran with 20 years pediatric experience. This “Dr” is a quack

Dr. Jayakody is a great doctor. My son has been under her care for over a year. My son's condition is very rare and he had to go through so many visits to the specialists and testing. Dr. Jayakody has been supportive throughout the whole process and gave him a proper diagnosis and treatment option. She always takes her time to answer our questions and discuss with our concerns. Highly recommended!

I would not recommend Dr. Jayakody, for anyone. While she is a nice woman, I feel that her medical expertise, and attention to detail, is highly lacking. She missed several opportunities to gather information on my daughter, resulting in her being properly diagnosed by a doctor with a different specialty, and then it only being relayed to Dr. Jayakody. Even after she agreed on the diagnosis, she put the incorrect diagnosis in my daughter's chart.
