Dr. Hong Nguyen, MD

VA C&P examiner I was scheduled for an exam with Dr. Nguyen (6/22). She seemed pleasant enough and engaging. After reviewing her exam notes. She accurately reflected what I reported. She also utilized my submitted academic studies & research journals to justify the service connection. Due to her inexperience with the VA system, she basically wrote the justification backwards, which was not accepted by the VA. The VA is notorious for denying Veteran’s claims. When the VA sent her another request for an IMO (Independent Medical Opinion), they included the prior exam was insufficient and gave instructions to revise the prior positive medical opinion, and suggested specific language for the medical examiner. Subsequently, Dr. Nguyen rewrote the medical opinion as requested by the VA. This is very disappointing. Basically the Dr. did a 180 and reversed her decision of how my conditions are related to my military service and ultimately my current disabilities. This seems unethical and distressing that a provider could be swayed so easily by a bureaucracy that didn’t even directly hire her.

Dr Nguyen is the most conscientious and thorough doctor I have had. Her move from the “medical treat em & Street em” culture reflected in some of the old neg reviews proves her heart for patients. She now has freedom to connect to her patients, to know them personally, and spend time with their individual needs. 5star

My husband and I had our Medicare Wellness check and were pleased with Dr Nguyen. She asked pertinent questions and spent quality time. Gave suggestions to remedy the health questions we asked. We would recommend her.

I've been seeing Dr. Nguyen for over 2 years and have had nothing but positive experiences. She listens intently to everything I tell her and does her best to answer any questions I have. Never hesitates to order tests if she or I feel they're needed. I'm moving out of state next month and will miss having a PCP that I have complete faith in.

I have never met a doctor that is so scatterbrained. she just rushes through the appointment. Does not take time to know you or anything of the sorts. hands down the worst doctor I have ever had. I have been going for 2 years and changing now.

Long story but basically I am now going to be without my seizure meds for the next 2 months until I can get in with a new neurologist. Nguyen refused to refill my anti-seizure medication and took it upon herself to call my pharmacist AND neurologist to tell them not to refill it, because it "might possibly" make my birth control less effective - which I already knew and told her I was fine with. I have been on this combo for YEARS with no issues. Unbelievable. Thanks a lot Doc!

Anyone who gives a breast exam over a bra should not be allowed to practice, she does does not seem very knowledgeable and does not spend time listening to the issues brought up. My appt was for a new patient yearly exam and she didn't listen for lungs, heart, no nostrils, throat or ears, the only clothing taken off were my shoes to get my height. & weight by the MA. I would not refer this Dr to anyone.

Does not listen well nor take very much time with you. Will show you out the door while your still talking about what's wrong. Doesn't seem very knowledgeable.
