Dr. Hosein Shokouh Amiri, MD

Dr Amiri is an amazing person who has been blessed with exceptional advanced surgical skills. He is also remarkably compassionate and kind in the way that he treated my family and even after the 8+ hour surgery he was at the bedside that late evening to explain to us in detail how it all went and answered our many questions. I can’t quite explain it but in person when he’s telling us about it, you get a sense of what kind of person he is, and I’m sure he’s done it for a long time and seen many patients-the best way to explain it is that it’s as if he was family or a longtime friend who was fully invested just like us. I can’t say enough good things about him and what he has done for our family.

Dr. Amiri did an extraordinary job for me. I had the whipple procedure done at 4th stage pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer by him and his team. He gave it to me straight. He told me that he would do the procedure but it would take God to heal me. That was confirmation enough for me. I had the surgery on a Friday and was home the next Thursday recovering well. I wasn’t babied and was told to get up and move two days after surgery, and that is what I did. I had a few issues that were alarming to me, but to him they were common, so he just instructed us on what to do and everything turned out just fine. He is so experienced in his craft that he knows how to de-escalate your fears because it’s new to you. He explained everything thoroughly and after an exhaustive 8 hour surgery, he personally found my wife in the waiting area and assured her that everything went smoothly. His staff called every hour for 8 hours straight to my wife’s phone just to say everything is going fine.

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. My mom woke up in hospital room by herself after her surgery. We still sitting in the lobby waiting for one of the ladies tell us something. I had just asked when my phone started going off. They had just told me she was still in the O.R..It took them over an hour to authorize pain meds. She had a 6 inch incision going through her abdomen. Never saw him once after the surgery. He also told said he could do a procedure he wasnt authorized to do.
