He is a doctor who doesn’t listen to his patients
If you go in and tell him what you think is wrong with you, he totally dismisses everything you say. He says you can't possibly have it because you don't look like you have it. No tests were ran. He thanked me for coming in.

Thyroid Nodule - Completely Dismissed
I had the chance to visit with Dr. Baum yesterday for the first time. I originally had an appointment in January but they had to push it out 3 MONTHS because he was out. First red flag. Secondly I walked in and explained my story. I have had a thyroid nodule for over a year and not a single doctor has biopsied it after it was found on the ultrasound. When I said that he said, "well yeah they shouldn't, it's not a big deal." I am 23. Then I went on to explain how this nodule has caused issues to my energy level, weight gain, anxiety and depression, and stomach issues. He blew that off and said that not of that was related. He told me that my nodule was mildly suspicious but just said, "we'll do blood work but I won't biopsy. sorry" I was crying because I felt hopeless then he proceeded to say "can you stop crying so that when you walk into the lobby, it doesn't give a bad look to other patients?" DO NOT COME TO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT HELP. EXTREMELY INVALIDATING AND HORRIBLE.

Ridiculous experience. Over Christmas, I had tested positive on a rapid test for Covid. I had already been vaccinated. I felt sick and isolated for the required time and recovered. In January and February, I was able to go to Vanderbilt for other appointments as I was well out of the quarantine period. Last week (also February), because of an upcoming surgery, I had to take a PCR test and was positive due to having Covid in December. I was told the PCR would possibly be positive for MONTHS but I was no longer contagious. I went to other appointments at Vanderbilt and the providers understood. I went for my first appointment today with Dr. Baum, I was told by the front desk that Dr. Baum "felt uncomfortable" seeing me. I was not able to even check in. No one even called to warn me. In the patient portal, I state when exactly I tested positive in December and when I recovered. The PCR test is also there. I was probably the least-risky person in the entire office.

Followup for acromegaly, hyperparathyroidism, and surgical hypothyroidism. Dr Baum is intelligent, well informed, and an excellent communicator. I feel fortunate to be his patient.

Dr Baum biopsied my thyroid, stated I had papillary cancer with follicular variant and my thyroid was removed. Thyroid antibodies were not evaluated. I have autoimmune disease - both rheumatoid and hashimotos with gut dysbiosis. All have improved 90percent with a change in my nutritional intake

Dr. Baum is not a physician, he is a businessman. Cut me off when I spoke, knowing little about my case. Claimed "If your TSH is under 10, you cannot have thyroid issues". Later admitting the top of the normal range was recently lowered, due to hypothyroidism cases below the old standard 4.5 TSH. Nothing but an insurance-grubbing, soulless, quack.

I started with Dr. Baum as a new patient when I was in a crisis with Type II Diabetes. Through his skill, patience and expertise, he managed to reduce my A1C down 8 points in a short time. He is never in a hurry and always willing to listen to my crazy questions and ideas. His warmth and conversation always puts me ease and I feel confident with his decisions. Of course, part of the solution is to actually do what he tells me. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

One of the worse doctors I have been to. As someone with an autoimmune disease I have been to a few doctors but none of them have failed me as much as Dr. Baum.

Dr. Baum is a "scientist." He will not go out of his medical school training box, so to speak. I see him for Hashimotos/Hypothyroidism and he treats me for my labs and not my symptoms. If you ask him to go above and beyond the regular TSH, T4 & T3 tests, he will not budge. He has told me that "antibodies results for the Hashimotos will never change" though I've read many books about women who have put their Hashimotos into remission and have brought their TPO numbers into "normal range" with
