He Saved My Dad's Life
May 19, 2022 My dad had a heart attack, he arrived at the hospital around 1pm, they were not able to insert stints into his arteries so he needed a bypass surgery. around 2pm Dr. Marks was called in. I was on my way from Atlanta to Wilmington at 3pm and they told us it would be about 3-4 hours, so I figured by the time I got to Wilmington I would have heard that my father was out of surgery and doing well. Well I arrived at 9:10pm and he had just gotten out of surgery and was not doing good. Dr. Marks, told my family it was 50 50 and that his arteries were very diseased and that he would wake up hopefully around Sunday. Well Saturday morning my dad was awake and on a pump keeping his heart beating. he deteriorated after that for 6 months. In November 2022 He was blessed by an angel and given a new heart at Duke Hospital and is in absolutely great shape today. If it wasnt for Dr. Marks and Dr. Rommel, we would have lost my Dad. Thank you for saving my Dad. We owe you!

Coronary Bypass Surgery.
I was referred to Dr Marks after catheterization indicated blockages were to extensive to stent. Dr Marks patiently explained my condition and thoroughly answered all of the questions my wife and I had. After Dr Marks performed triple bypass surgery, he and his PA visited me every day of my week long hospital stay including the weekend. I was impressed that he individually introduced all of the members of his surgical team prior to starting the procedure. His straightforward and caring manner made me confident that I was getting the best possible care.

Doctor Marks was very good at explaining the whole procedure in terms that I understand, and follow up with my wife and I during my hospital stay. He and his staff was meticulous, answering my questions before I even had a chance to ask. I had a very fine Doctor when I lived in Illinois, but Dr. Marks is the best!

While it may sound crazy to rave about a surgery I'm going to rave. Dr. Marks open heart procedure for me was a thing of grace. It began with a thorough explanation of the procedure and answers to many questions . I entered the Surgical Pavilion fully confident in what was to happen. Afterwards the ICU nursing staff was outstanding and made my initial recovery quite easy. Right on down the line I was greeted with friendly professionals. I think the right attitude helped but Dr. Marks and the people who serve with him made the whole experience very gratifying.

I went in for a heart cath and Dr. Marks found primary blockage in the main left of 95%. He found that I was in need of a double bypass and I was kept in the hospital until the surgery could be scheduled. Two days later I was in the operating room as I was considered to be in a life threatening condition. I heard the word “Miracle” used by several medical professionals. I prayed a lot and I am sure that God through the talent of Dr Marks saved my life so I could finish what God has intended for me to do!!

I went in for a heart cath and a couple of stents. On the table the cath failed and they found I was in need of a triple bypass with the primary blockage in the main left of 99%. I was kept in the hosp until I could have surgery which was done by Dr Marks, 4 days later. I heard the word Miracle used by 4 different medical professionals. It was indeed, a true miracle that I survived. I've no doubt that God & Dr Marks, in tandem, saved my life so I could finish what God has started! I am blessed!!
