Dr. Hoyt Gazaway Jr, MD

Dr Gazaway was thoughtful and caring. My visit was more than a physical; he made sure I was informed and that my questions were answered. He gave me a clear plan for good health!

I moved here from North Carolina and he was the first doctor I saw. He was thoughtful attentive and made sure to send me (a diabetic) to an endocrinologist, which is something that none of my doctors in North Carolina had done. I fell down the stairs this year and he sent me to see the folks at Ortho Atlantic. He has from day one let me know that I need to lose weight due to my disease and for my general health. He also provided me the tools to do so. I have had nothing but good experiences with this doctor so I don't understand some of the reviews. He also treats my friend who has had a great experience with him thru a charitable organization that he donates his time to and patients pay nothing.

I've been seeing Dr. Gazaway for about 6 years. i have never experienced the treatment described in these other reviews. He's as personable and caring as any doctor I've ever used. I can't help but wonder if there's something about these people's personality or attitude that sparked this behavior in him.

Repeatedly, I found that Dr. Gazaway would not listen to my concerns. He would come into to the room yawning and not even looking at me. On my last visit, he even said he was tired and ready to go home. It was unbelievable and I felt so embarrassed! I left his office with a lot of unanswered questions about my health; I was in tears. I went home and told my daughter that I would never go back to Dr. Gazaway's office, ever again, and I haven't! He needs to retire. Crappy doctor!

Arrogant and disinterested in the patient. Basically came in and played with his computer and then told me he didn't know what was wrong with me. He later made sure to tell me he was a surgeon though. I've gone to him for other issues where he made me feel like I was wasting his time and didn't have a problem.

Rude, arrogant. The shoddiest physical I've ever had. Basically listened to heart and lungs, had bloodwork drawn and that's it. Said that insurance doesn't pay them to answer questions during a physical. Would NEVER have changed from my previous doctor if insurance hadn't changed. Staff IS very nice, however.

First off he spent the first 10 minutes of the visit putting on a theatrical degrading monologue about how stupid my mother was for giving me and antibiotic that was prescribed to me 6 months earlier. Obviously I know now that she shouldn't have given it to me but he went about it in such an arrogant way. He acted like my 10 minutes with him was the biggest waste of his time. Absolute arrogant piece of trash. He kept his head in his hands most of the time telling me my mother was unbelievable
