Stay Away
Had a hip replacement surgery, in hospital for six days, he never came in room to see me, day of discharge he stopped in at 4am to tell me that he did not agree with my going to inpatient physical rehab, severe pain ever siince only states al the hardware looks good, but no explanatio to why I a in such pain now almost one year later have to have hip revision surgery to correct his medical neglience, do not have him operate on you tells you he will do antterior hip replacement only o do posterior much more cutting and long healing time but it is faster than anterior hip and requires much more training by the urgeon posterior hip rsurgery is fast so surgeon can perform more surgeries rather than taking his time with anterior hip replacements DR.Luu is not the surgeon you want unless you want to have revision surgery a year later

The best review I can give!
Excellent orthopedic physician ! I remember him when he was a resident and his surgeries were successful. I selected him for my total hip replacement for that reason.

Dr. Luu is the best. He is fully knowledgeable, communicates exactly what is causing the pain and discomfort and the course of action to resolve. My knee feels better today than it has in the last 20 years.

In November, 2016 I underwent a total right knee replacement performed by Dr. Luu, the second major joint replacement procedure he did for me last year. Prior to the surgery, I could barely walk, I was in constant, almost unbearable pain, and my arthritis-ridden knee was at nearly a 45 degree angle from where it should have been. Six months later, thanks to Dr. Luu and Mr. Michael Jordan, physical therapist par excellence, I have no right knee pain, and am walking more than two miles each day.

I went to see him based on the reviews I read. He was anything but like those reviews. His Residents or students were amazing, caring & informative. He gave me all of 2 minutes, was indifferent, totally insensitive and uncaring. He was abrupt to the point of rudeness when I tried to talk to him about my allergies of pain meds. He could have directed me to the "amazing pain clinic", as was told to me later by his resident, but didn't even mention it. I would not trust him nor refer anyone to him.

Dr. Luu is the best of the best. He was professionally and personally available to me, listening to my concerns and answering my questions with patience and clarity. I am 79 years old and I have never met a more impressive physician. I can recommend him to anyone.
