Dr. Hugh Smisson III, MD

Friendly staff. I've seen Dr. Smisson @every visit. I had excellent results from his surgical procedure & saw him daily during my hospital stay. His staff is always friendly & helpful. You don't have to wait weeks or months to get insurance prior approval either. Someone gets on it quickly & called me to set up my procedure within a few days. I came from Ortho Georgia as a patient because i was tired of rarely seeing a Dr. I've seen Dr. Smisson at every visit here. I highly reccomend him.

Had a thorough and informative appointment with Josh Young and then Dr. Smisson early in August. I have completed all of the pre-surgery requirements and am just waiting on a surgery date now. Very excited to have the surgery as my back pain and pain in my legs is much worse. So glad for their expertise.

Came talked dr. Smissom an he found my problems an is taking nesasary step to fix my neck an back. He is very knowledgeable an has great bedside manner.

Dr. Smisson is very compassionate, caring, listens attentively to concerns and works out the best possible situation for your issue.

Dr. Smisson did a wonderful job with my back surgery. Had surgery on Wednesday and off pain meds by noon Friday. Highly recommend him and his excellent team. They were first class all the way.

Dr Smisson is always very nice and cordial and professional. But most of all thorough. Staff is great! I’ve trusted Dr Smisson with my life for almost 2 years and 2 surgeries and he has been wonderful.

Dr. Smisson is very personable. He listens to your concerns and either explains what's happening or schedules tests and followup to get to root of problem. I have been more than pleased with his care for my problems. His assistant is also very helpful and prompt in returning phone calls.

Dr. Smisson is one of my favorite doctors. He's professional in every sense of the word. Dr. Smisson listens, evaluate and works with you to come up with a plan. His bedside manner is pleasant; never seen him without a smile on his face. I highly recommend Dr. Smisson and Georgia Neurosurgical Institute.

Was promptly seen at scheduled time. Explains procedures well before performing. Very personable, listened and answered my concerns.

The office help were nice,the female nurse that helped me with my brace was so very very kind. Got me a wheelchair,just so sweet.The male nurse was extremely caring, kind, talk to ME not at me. Very concern about my health and what was wrong. Gave me his complete attention and really wanted to know what was wrong. He did an examination , paid attention to what I was saying.I felt he knew I was truly in horrible pain. Dr.Smisson was very king, caring and seem to really care about ME and actually listen to ME. He took time to pay attention to what I had to say.He put me in a back brace and started other things to help me. He really seem to be truly conceded. I have not had any doctor to show they knew that I was really suffering, and that I was at a point I didn’t know what to do, who to trust and who really cared and believed me. Very friendly, first visit . Everyone I came in contact with was very professional and helpful. I was constantly asked if I had any questions. The actual exam was done twice , first by a PA and then the Doctor . Diagnosis was the same and was sent for X-rays and CT scan . I was told he would read reports and call me promptly to follow up with his recommendations as to procedures. Both attending physicians were thorough in exam and explained all next steps.
