Dr. Huy Nguyen, MD

My mother was transported to SPVH for a gall bladder filled with gallstones she had no idea about. She was supposed to have an emergency surgery but we were told the doctor wanted to do his own scans first. After repeatedly sending her to the same scans and one MRI, we get news that he is discharging her. Mind you, my mother is about to hit 70 years old and he encouraged her to walk around with the stones “until it’s ruptures or becomes inflamed”. Why would a doctor encourage someone to wait until a condition can become life threatening to return? Bedside manner was horrible, as he relayed this information to us over THE PHONE, nor had we met this man even ONE TIME during her time there. He didn’t send her home with any meds or antibiotics and told us to give her OTC medication and return when it’s inflamed. He literally told us that “people walk around with stones all the time, it’s just a matter of when it will rupture”. He’s not in this field to care, he’s in it for the money. RUN!!

Bedside manner is lacking compassion or even faking that he cares at all. He only saw me once since being admitted. Released me within 14 hours with kidney stones, severe kidney pain, unable to keep liquids or food down for 2 days. Blood work shows infection yet no antibiotics or anything prescribed. I would never recommend him to anyone.
