outstanding communicator, great doc too!
Ask him any question, he will answer it. Very easy going to talk to, yet as thorough as can be. Explains everything and listens.

Dr Steele has been caring for me several years. I have a complex case and am “high maintenance “. I’ve seen many GI’s over the course of 20+ years. He is thorough, compassionate, professional yet down to earth. He cares for me and listens to and answers all questions with every visit. His nurse/MA Haley is always helpful and attentive to my needs and concerns. I’m surprised to see any negative feedback for him as my experience has been the complete opposite. I’ve also never had any issues with his front staff. Debbie is who I usually speak with. I would recommend him to anyone with GI issues. If he doesn’t have an answer, he will find it!

Absolutely appalling. Considers patients sheep. His staff had 2 wonderful women and 2 who were such horrible unprofessional harpies that they don't deserve to work anywhere. I asked twice for a phone call from him due to my concerns but either the shrews never gave him the message or he simply didn't care and was too busy vacationing during a pandemic. I caught the shrews lying to me several times, I had no TP to do my colo prep and they snidely told me to use newspaper or magazine pages. Not exactly soft or absorbent, and refused me even a cheap box of tissue like they have in the exam rooms, insinuating that I was trying to scam them. It's not like I was asking an oral surgeon TP. Colonoscopies require TP. For alleged health professionals, they are anything but. This doctor and his nasty staff are not to be trusted. I filed a formal complaint against them.A month after I refused their services 4ever,in a retro attempt 2 CYA, they sent me a letter "dismissing" ME from their care!

Dr. Steele has been with me since my initial diagnosis of ulcerative colitis. He has always been a good listener and really cares about making your treatment plans with you for what works best for you. I’ve spoke to many others with irritable bowel disease and hearing their horror stories, I’m so grateful to have Dr. Steele as a doctor.

Worst medical experience ever! My son had just gotten out of the ER and the hospital referred him to this doctor for follow up in 3-5 days. They wouldn't even make an appt because they said he needed a referral. Well, his insurance doesn't require a referral and it's amazing to think that the hospital that he works at isn't enough of a referral. He was to see a new primary care physician next week, so they actually said that he would have to wait until that to see this doctor! WHAT!?!?

Dr Steele treated me for Gastritis. It was he who fortunately for me discovered my 3rd Stage Diffuse gastric cancer. He personally knew a gastroenterologist up at the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville and refered me. Several operations later one being Total Stomach Removal I'm currently in Total Remission.

Dr. Steele is a well trained, compassionate, caring and excellent Dr. I was referred to Shand's, where he was Chief of Staff at one time. When I told them I came from Melbourne, they inquired about Dr. Steele. The Dr.'s and staff spoke very highly of him. There was tremendous respect and affection for him so much so I tease him they erected a bronze statue of him on campus. We are so fortunate to have this talented gastroenterologist at Health First. Great staff, love this office.

Giving Dr. Steele 2 stars based on reputation only. I was unable to schedule an appointment due to the incompetence of his admin staff. Sorry to know he is apparently doing so much business they are comfortable giving up patients because the scheduling process is too complex for the staff. The secretary might be a nice lady but good luck dealing with her, she is too busy talking to take half a second and actually listen. Very poor communicator.
