He will yell at you and want you to feel unworthy of his service. I had read a past review that stated this and didn't believe it...till it happened to me. All over medicine - which I had taken many times over the years with no problem. But this last time I had a reaction bad enough that my PC dr. told me to go to ER. I was constantly sick to my stomach, completely run down, weak and went into a depression (which had never happened before in my life or sense). Alghafeer didn't believe the ER dr. when he called to talk to him. He told ER dr. none of his or his colleague's other patients had ever had a reaction like that. The ER dr. told me that my reaction was possible from it. At my next appt., Alghafeer yelled, 'WHY ARE YOU HERE?' I started to tell him my symptoms. He cut me off by yelling the same thing 3 times. I can't help my bodies reactions. He was unwilling or able to work with me and made sure to let me know by his bad behaviour.

Never Again
I have been a patient of Dr. Alghafeer for many years. After he changed to Northwestern, he completely changed. I would never recommend him to anyone. Never. After I learned that my health needed more care, I went to Mayo Clinic. Dr. Alghafeer yelled at me in his office because I saw a different doctor. I sat there crying while he harassed me and told me that there is no better doctor than him. Well, now every doctor is better than him. He has lost every bit of love and compassion in being a doctor. He missed that I have two severe blood disorders, bone death in four joints that have all required surgery, and management of my rheumatology diseases. He has shamed me and has been the only doctor to never see me while in the hospital. Consider a different doctor who will care about you and your body, because Dr. Alghafeer surely will not.

Saw this ? Doctor and he dismissed me as the patient and proceeded to say he only wanted to speak with my husband during a visit for my back and hip pain. Arrogant and haughty and claims to be a specialist for arthritis. Had to see my primary doctor who diagnosed me with osteoarthritis of my hips and lower back. This group this ? Doctor is with are all basically unable to treat patients and refer you to doctor after doctor. Northwestern medicine at Valley West is a place that has this kind of doctor.

New Patient
I am a new patient with scoliosis and arthritis all over my body. My primary doc does not know what to do anymore so she referred me to a rheumatologist. My inflammation levels were almost double of what they should be, and normal pain treatment really did not help. I gave the nurse my history and Dr. seemed more concerned about my hand than anything else. Which is fine, I guess. But when I brought up the rash on my hand he said, “how long have you had it?” And I told him just over three weeks. He said, “Well it’s not a viral or bacterial infection.” I asked how he knew this, and he said from the blood work…. Which was done by another doctor in MARCH OF THIS YEAR. Hmm, strange. No prescription cream offered for this. And, he was okay with the inflammation levels being so high. He had no interest in doing updated/current blood work. I felt rushed and, I wouldn’t say ridiculed, but I felt like he was belittling my issues I was bringing up. Kind of like gaslighting me. He said I “probably

Horrific Dr. He would not allow me to put on a gown so he could visually and physically examine my knee and ankle joints. Both of my knees were badly engorged and needed to be drained. I had to go directly to another rheumatologist out of network and pay out of pocket to have both knees drained because Dr Algafeer wouldn't even look at my documented affected joints. His bedside manner was horrible.

I'm grateful he was able to help me after others tried but could not diagnose. After many years he remains as concerned as my first appointment. He doesn't waste time and comes to the point. Glad I referred to him.

I can NOT believe these negative reviews about Dr. Alghafeer! Especially the ones claiming him to be rude and uncaring. I have been seeing him for YEARS and he is VERY kind, friendly and GOOD at his job! I see him for fibromyalgia and have state insurance yet he has always treated me with the utmost respect and professionalism. Please do not hesitate to try this doctor as he is GREAT!

Terrible! Please do not go to this doctor and expect help or answers. He is very impersonal, and even though he's supposed to be a Rheumatologist, he will not help you with anything relavant to his practice. He is very standoffish and appears to know nothing about medicine. He does not refil medication on a timely manner. This doctor never once touched me and he does not listen. Whenever I had a issue, he would tell me to call my family care doctor. I came to him for my disease called Lupus.

I was referred to him by my primary care for a second opinion. He knew my diagnosis on the second visit after he ordered some blood test. He started me on new medications (different from what I was taking) which made a huge difference in my condition. I have become more functional and have had no more problems with arthritis. I can not thank him enough for what he did to me. I recommended him to my mother and another friend who was having some joint issues. They were all pleased with his care.

After my first appointment with Dr. Alghafeer, his staff's incompetency cost me the ability to have my prescription covered by my insurance because they submitted paperwork with false information. Then they called me to cancel an appointment before trying to charge ME for NOT cancelling the appointment. This doctor is not worth the headache.
